Lorraine Braco > Sharon Stone,

at least as far as these two movies.

Slight preference for Goodfellas, but it’s a close enough question that Casino is definitely underrated. I want the same number of blueberries in every muffin.

I believe there’s an actual mathematical answer to which one is better

it’s whichever one features the most Joe Pesci

Way better imo.

Fjorded! I prefer my DeNiro badass not brow-beaten.

Watching Reality Bites now. I’m not sure I ever saw this movie.

Had a friend who was a lot like Troy (Ethan Hawke). Total asshole. But he always got us into some interesting shit. Eventually we had to cut him loose for good.

Life was more interesting when we didn’t have cell phones

This movie is so funny. When you are twenty it’s obvious she should pick Troy. When you are 40 it’s obvious she should have picked Stiller.

Late to this discussion but also the number of Roger Corman films that fit this description are beyond count (plus he was even in Godfather 2!).

I think GoodFellas is better because Casino’s screenplay was much closer to actual events.

So, the two movies (well, not Mank either) I haven’t seen from two of my favorite directors is the choice tonight

The Game or Jackie Brown?

Jackie Brown, ez game.

The Game is better except for the terrible ending. Just turn it off with 5 minutes left and make up your own ending.

I’m sure Jackie Brown references 100 films that I never saw in a brilliant way. But I’ve never had the urge to watch it again.

John Grisham approves of your plan for consumers to simply mentally fix brutally bad endings, but that really doesn’t work except in movies where the plot resolution didn’t much matter (most commonly comedies).

Omg

Both are so good.

Ignore these plebes. The ending to The Game is fantastic.

Jackie Brown is sometimes my favorite Tarantino movie. Pam Grier is unbeatable. Good bit part by Chris Tucker too.

It’s been a while since I’ve seen it, but I don’t think The Game would have been a good movie without its ending.

Took a look at Tubi. It’s horror offerings in particular are awesome: The Shining, Army of Darkness, Teeth, Tremors, Candyman, The Thing, Lovecraft Country, and enough shlock to keep you entertained for years? Wow. It’s a shame MrsWookie will only abide a few of these per year tops.

I will admit that I’ve had the end of Jackie brown somewhat spoiled/saw a minute once while channel surfing so will probably go with the game

The Game spoiler: The most preposterous ending I’ve ever seen in a movie. Somehow they calculated that Michael Douglas would be in that spot AND shoot Sean Penn AND THEN kill himself out of grief by diving through the sky light. Come on.
