Movies (and occasionally face slaps) (Part 1)

Yeah I just finished Resolution and I am READY to watch The Endless again with this new context. These guys are great storytellers.

I see. Subscription fees for a service Iā€™m not using the shit out of make me feel like a chump, but ads in the middle of my movies make me feel like I should be able to pay to make them go away. The modern American dilemma.

Does Tubi run the entire movie? I know the annoying thing about movies on TV was the movie being cut up to fit in the necessary running time. Doesnā€™t seem like itā€™d be a problem for streaming

Does tubi actually run all of its movies fully uncensored too? My biggest hesitation is always that I wonder if Iā€™m going to get the damn TNT edit if I dial something up on there. Not just the length as Hue mentions, but the content.

Rewatching Perfect Blue on Shudder and itā€™s a trip. This movie is so old that it presupposes that the audience has never used the internet before. And yet it perfectly predicts our modern age of toxic internet fan culture.

Jules (Demi Moore) in St. Elmoā€™s fire predicting the Kardashians was cool.

I donā€™t know why youā€™re both so worriedā€¦ So, I bop him for a couple of years, get his job when he gets his hands caught in the vault, do a black mink ad, retire in utter disgrace, then write a best seller and be a fabulous host on my own talk showā€¦

Tubi is free and uncut. Their library is huge and gets bigger every day. They add hundreds or thousands of titles every week. You will actually see stuff leave paid subscriptions and move to Tubi or FreeVee.

FreeVee is second place. Thatā€™s where stuff like Mad Men and Fringe went. It used to be branded as IMDBtv.

PlutoTV is third with a good library and the option to watch TV like old broadcast mode.

After that is Roku and Crackle. Those are good for certain titles but their libraries suck.

First weekend in forever I can remember there being two films I want to see.

Past lives
No hard feelings.

Finally got around to watching Goodfellas so I could do the Rewatchables. Hot take: it holds up! The music is so fucking good.

I own the two dogs painting on a t-shirt btw. Late night buzzed impulse buy. I think Iā€™ve worn it once and no one at the party even got the reference :(

Lorraine Braco > Sharon Stone,

at least as far as these two movies.

Slight preference for Goodfellas, but itā€™s a close enough question that Casino is definitely underrated. I want the same number of blueberries in every muffin.

I believe thereā€™s an actual mathematical answer to which one is better

itā€™s whichever one features the most Joe Pesci

Way better imo.

Fjorded! I prefer my DeNiro badass not brow-beaten.

Watching Reality Bites now. Iā€™m not sure I ever saw this movie.

Had a friend who was a lot like Troy (Ethan Hawke). Total asshole. But he always got us into some interesting shit. Eventually we had to cut him loose for good.

Life was more interesting when we didnā€™t have cell phones

This movie is so funny. When you are twenty itā€™s obvious she should pick Troy. When you are 40 itā€™s obvious she should have picked Stiller.
