This can happen a lot to artists with a distinctive style. Eventually they’ll ride the edge of “unique” and “self parody”.
Dream Theater comes to mind sigh
Not to be confused with Dreamscape, which seems like a great movie for Tubi
The acquisition algorithm strikes again
Mr. Steele, why were you 45 minutes late to the press conference?
Well, I’d like to apologize for that. I was giving mouth-to-mouth resuscitation to a bottle of tequila, and I’m afraid we lost her.
I’ve never enjoyed anime except for Voltron, but hello…
EDIT: Apparently it’s a series, not a movie.
Cowboy Bebop is great. A lot of style over substance but oh boy, the style is 11/10.
Y’all also got me to finally see 12 Angry Men. Yes, pretty great. That Sidney Lumet fella sure knew what he was doing.
Holy fuck this is going to be the greatest thing anyone has ever seen
They even got Kevin’s cousin Fuller back!!!
One of the biggest disappointments of my life was not getting a background extra role in Wright’s Baby Driver. I saw the casting calls, saw his name, and pooped my pants. Weren’t many extras in it, though - I know one guy who is in that early scene when Baby is getting coffee. I’m so jealous.
(I’m exaggerating my disappointment a bit, but still…)
No it’s not exaggerated at all we just need to help you relive the regret
My #1 “didn’t get the part” disappointment was when I made it through multiple cuts when the director was picking James Marsden’s three-man news team in Anchorman 2. Got all the way to the final cut and didn’t get it. I was in a funk for a couple days.
(I was on set for one day, which was really fun. Harrison Ford walked right past me when he arrived. The public didn’t even know he was going to be in it.)
Made me really appreciate what it must be like to REALLY be an actor. It’s gotta be tough getting rejected so often.
That sucks but also that’s a good point about humility. Can’t help what you experience as significant opportunities for you that didn’t work out. Sometimes I find a deep appreciation for my career by realizing it’s all about scale. You go for the part or the award or the box office benchmark or… This is a fun biz. Lots of moments to empathize with whatever the person beside you is experiencing on the same set but for different reasons.
When?!?!?!
Doesn’t look like anyone has announced a date. Wright says “soon.”
Ghost Dog is a legit samurai movie, I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
In other news, for any MST3k fans, this is going down tomorrow night. I have never seen Darkstar, but I have heard extraordinary things about it.
