Great movie
This is serious level horror though. Like legitimately scary. Freaked me the fuck out for days.
Be cautious if she is a noob. I would never show this one to my girlfriend.
Sheās not a total n00b, but she does get freaked pretty easily. Some weāve done in the past include The Shining, Get Out, The Cabin in the Woods, Psycho, Midsommar, and It Follows. Thus far sheās refused to watch The Exorcist, but Iāll keep working on her.
Midsommer is same writer/director.
Hereditary is far scarier than any of the ones you listed though imo.
probably not The Exorcist
Yeah, if you liked Midsommar youāll like Hereditary.
I hated 'em both --Iād just as soon watch the Christopher Lee version of Wicker Man if you like the classics.
Maybe because Iām not religious I donāt really find the exorcist very scary.
Exorcist is incredibly well shot and directed, regardless.
Right same here, but I do like with most movies. Gotta suspend disbelief. If the movie takes place in a universe where god and the devil are real, its fucking terrifying
I need to rewatch this classic 1980ās gem sometime. Cynthia Rothrock and Michelle Yeoh at their finest.

Holy shit thats incredible. Any chance we see it hit streaming at some point?
I loved hereditary, watched midsommar recently and thought it was ass
Knew nothing about her and read her wiki article. Sounds awesome
She was an inspiration for the video game character Sonya Blade from the Mortal Kombat fighting game franchise[
Also the star of Santaās Summer House!
I donāt see it on any of the standard subscription services, but, at least in the US, you can rent it for $6 via Amazon video.
Watching random movies and just caught Last Night in Soho. Really good and not what I expected.
Still on HBO? I havent watched it yet
Yes, I watched on HBO Max.
Rosaline
8/10
A rom com with the woman Romeo was infatuated with before meeting Juliette.
A++ for the idea. Romeo as a dimwitted player, Juliette as a naive woman, Paris as the gay best friend. The plot of Romeo and Juliette really being caused by Rosaline trying to break Romeo and Juliette up. The Easter eggs were cute.
But the execution doesnāt quite elevate it. Basically it hits all the rom com beats, high striving woman who wonāt settle down and a suitor who both take a dislike to each other with quips and snipes but eventually realize theyāre right for each other, but without that extra chemistry. Thereās so some slightly annoying Apatow cringe humor that doesnāt need to be there.
One bit that did make me laugh out loud. When Juliette telling her plan of faking her death to get away from her parents and Rosaline quiping back āthatās the stupidest fucking idea Iāve ever heardā
