Yeah, I caught that first thing. Pretty surprising.
Never even heard of the #2 movie on the rolling stone list
Forgetting Sarah Marshall has to be up there, as does 22 Jump Street.
And even though I havenāt seen it recently, Hangover absolutely has to be top 10. One of the best theatre experiences Iāve ever had and it was an absolute revelation at the time.
Visually, looks fantastic. Sounds great, too.
Odd transition from the Bowser scene to Mario in that trailer. Meaning zero transition.
If you like Tai Westās retro-homage horror shtick I will recommend The House of the Devil. Pacing is a little off but I had fun with it.
Bodies, Bodies, Bodies was outstanding! Love seeing the cozy mystery genre adapted for a new generation. Def going to ship my mom a copy when this comes out on DVD.
I basically like Pete Davidson? I feel like Iām supposed to hate him for some dumb online reason but Iām entertained whenever heās on the screen. The world needs solid one-note character actors.
Nintendo is being cowardly and craven by not giving us Mario with the goofy voice. Iām sorry, the one with Bob Hoskins and Dennis Leary is the only legit Mario movie.
Dennis Hopper. He probably had a toothpick in his mouth, making him hard to recognize.
Dāoh. Yes, of course. What a cast, honestly.
I only count the animated show. Thereās no better bowser voice
Better than Dennis Hopper?
I got to 31 and had to stop to bitch about this exact thing. I knew it would be top ten for sure, just not positive where.
I rewatched Idiocracy lately and it really doesnāt have that many laughs. Good on you for predicting people would get dumber, but its well overrated imo.
Definitely not a top 5 comedy of the last 20 years.
I generally agree, but the House of Representinā was a fantastic gag.
The Dr. Lexus scene is an all-time great. As is the presidentās state of the union when the teleprompter starts simply āshit.ā
Instantly memorable comedy scenes (will obviously miss a ton, but just doing this otoh):
Anchorman: sex panther
Forgetting Sarah Marshall: male nudity/breakup
40 year old virgin: waxing scene
Superbad: mclovin ID
22 Jump street: Ice T finds out about the relationship
Macgruber: getting the team together
Popstar: Bin Laden
Team America: Matt Damon
Step Brothers: did we just become best friends
Funny people: backstage with the comedians
Plenty of others like zoolander where I canāt choose or nothing is coming up immediately
Gasoline fight in Zoolander absolutely slayed me.
Looks like Avatar is heading for a 3rd week in a row in the box office top ten, just in case anybody was worried that James Cameronās movies havenāt made enough money yet. Itās kind of ridiculous how successful all of his movies have been.
Idiotocracy had some great gags, but the full-on social Darwinism kinda turned me off.
That was my first thought, then changed to the first runway bit, then couldnāt decide.
Yeah, now you got me thinking. The gasoline fight was definitely when I laughed the hardest, but maybe the walkoff is more iconic?
