Honestly, I kinda have to because I have no idea why it suddenly turns into a Resident Evil zombie village at the end. Man, the Rifftrax version is outstanding, 10/10 if youā€™re an MST3k fan.

I like to imagine that all the dlk9s roles are the same character in the same universe. Like, he was Barbecue Man in the Spiderman movie but then after his secret identity was revealed he had to move his family to California, where he bought a car from Daniel-san and after that he was on a business trip to Georgia when the zombie apocalypse broke out.

The first hour of Sunshine tho

Pretty good decade for space movies, even if most seem to be hit or miss with people here.
Interstellar, The Martian, Ad Astra, Gravity

If you like Danny Boyle and Alex Garland, youā€™re in for a treat.

I maintain that the first half of that movie is basically perfection. It turns into a different movie in the last act that I donā€™t love.

I mostly liked Ad Astra and loved Gravity, but BR2049, Ex Machina and The Arrival are my top three. Also, I Am Mother was an underappreciated direct-to-Netflix gem. Hell, even the Planet Of The Apes reboot movies were inexplicably great. Honorable mention goes to Wandering Earth; itā€™s interesting to see China create sci-fi movies.Basically, there have been a lot of great sci-fi movies recently. Does Invisible Man count as sci-fi? That was also really good!

Yeah, I love BR2049 and Ex Machina, but I wouldnā€™t call even Arrival a ā€œspaceā€ movie even if it has aliens.

Very much agree. Would add the slightly-set-in-the-future sci-fi movie that Leigh Whannell made prior to Invisible Man.

My father-in-law just said he hated Gravity; in related news he has like WOAT taste in books and movies. I actually didnā€™t care for Arrival though so maybe I do too? I think my reasons are pretty good but I donā€™t want to get into it at the moment.

Name names

i dont think Arrival was super great or anything but it was good, different take on the aliens thing and did it well

Iā€™m hereby declaring ā€œThe Night Beforeā€ the official UP Christmas film.

Michael Shannon Makes every rewatch worth it.

I love this movie, Iā€™ve got to watch it again. Yeah it kind of turns into a mess in the 2nd half but itā€™s still awesome.

Just watched Fatman, it offered some laughs and Walter Goggins was great but it was kind of boring and not as dark/violent as I was expecting.

Love Sunshine (even the parts that turn people off). The soundtrack is so good. This is the movie Iā€™d most want to go see on a big screen.

Really regret not being able to see this in theaters. Guess I need to get a 4K copy for the 65ā€.

I could have sworn Clint Mansell did that soundtrack. I was wrong.

Another awesome space (TV show) that no one talks about anymore? BSG. Itā€™s on Peacock if anyone needs something to watch. And the Bear McCreary score is excellent.

The sun deck is probably my favorite Sci Fi visual of recent. The black hole in Interstellar is also pretty great.
