Movies (and occasionally face slaps) (Part 1)

Man I love Interstellar but you better slide that hyperbole back to the year 2001

I watched that movie not many months back and my mind will not be changed on this issue. I have spoken

You have every right to be wrong about whatever you want

Funny how perceptions can be so different. Iā€™d class it as bottom 5% of all movies Iā€™ve ever seen, not just sci-fi.

For sure it has the single worst score and sound mix of all time.

Mods ban plz

Itā€™s the only movie Iā€™ve ever seen that felt like an actual physical assault with the sound. It was uncomfortable to be in the theatre.

Unfortunately the decisions she makes made me
furious and walk out of this movie. Only other movie Iā€™ve walked out of isā€¦ Tenet. It sadly is nearly impossible to give a fuck what happens to anyone in Nolanā€™s movies. I liked The Prestige and Memento thoughā€¦

I thought she said she didnā€™t want to be in it but I could be totally wrong as I havenā€™t read this article and you would seem to generally know way more about movies than I do.

Second Interstellar GOAT, that movie was basically made for me. I will have to rewatch it and pay better attention to the sound mixing though, maybe knock it down a few notches.

Nolan is some kind of robot. Genius at the technical side of filmmaking but has zero idea how human emotion works.

OMG, Rifftrax has a riff track of Gymkata. I know the MST3k have been wanting to do this movie for ages, Iā€™m so hyped.

The Dead Donā€™t Die

I donā€™t know how you have a 100ā€° star studded cast and no one realized that not one scene in the movie was funny.

All comedy zombie movies should have stopped after Shawn of the Dead

I am going to write to the Criterion Collection and demand that they add Gymkata to their collection.

I donā€™t like Harry Potter and I havenā€™t seen any of the Fantastic Beast movies, but this is now tempting

Inception was the beginning of the end for Nolan imo. The Prestige GOAT, Memento GOAT of GOAT.

LOL such flattery, you are too kind

Donā€™t listen to them. Itā€™s good. Nolan does this deliberately. Is it to everyoneā€™s taste? No. Was Interstellarā€™s sound mixing the overwhelming sensory experience that is to MY taste? Yes.

I did chuckle though when he denied making a new audio mix of Baneā€™s voice after the preview audience said they couldnā€™t understand a word the character said.

Gymkata was based on a book? The fuck?

Are you gonna read itā€¦?

Just watched Superintelligence on HBO Max. Believe it debuted today.

Itā€™s getting bad reviews (1/2 star on RogerEbert.com!) but itā€™s a perfectly pleasant comedy/romantic comedy. No way did it deserve that bad of a rating. If you want a nice movie to watch with your significant other or family (some sexual innuendo-type talk, but nothing graphic), itā€™s cool. Itā€™s not amazing or anything, but itā€™s enjoyable.

Also, my kids and I might be the very first people you see in the entire movie. We walk past the camera in the first seconds of the first scene containing humans.
