"Missing" persons and other murder mysteries

I think if he’s on or slightly off the AT, he gets busted before winter sets in.

Crapola. My bad. It was @chupacabre. You guys both have avatars with white backgrounds!

DB Cooper is still on the loose!

Did they ever even figure out who he actually was? Just guesses, right?

The Case Breakers team claiming to have solved the Zodiac Killer also made a claim on D.B. Cooper. They say it’s Robert Rackstraw and claim to have recovered parts of the parachute. I have surface-level knowledge of this stuff and have no idea if it’s credible or just bluster. The iNtErNeT sLeUtHs seem to get triggered by all such claims, and that’s almost certainly because they are conspiracy theory donks who think a dude is hiding in dirt under flowers.

I’m curious if they drew the same conclusion as the writers for Spike Lee’s film.

So the wiki says these sleuths discovered parts of a parachute but doesn’t explain in any way how those parts are tied to Rackstraw. I mean, we know Cooper used a parachute. But unless they can tie the parachute to the perp they got nothing.

I dunno, try this:

Not sure what kind of probabilities I’d assign to this group being fraudulent but it’s significant. I don’t have much desire to dig into this stuff because it’s usually just bottomless rabbit hole fuel for the tin foil regions of your brain. People get so invested in this stuff in insular communities and really start to lose the lay of the land in Realityville (see: Amanda Knox thread in OOT).

I hear ya. I had some interest in D.B. Cooper going way back about 25-30 years ago, but I have no interest in going down any conspiracy rabbit holes at the moment.

If Laundrie were dead I’d still expect him to be found quickly. We already know he isn’t that good at hiding dead bodies. (Admittedly, I already speculated he could have jumped in a sinkhole and be dead and not likely to be found. Or if not dead could have ended up in some hidden dinosaur world.)

AT hideout theory was mine and I’m riding that horse to the finish! I do agree that the Florida preserve was a massive misdirection as was the family camping trip. I hypothesize that they parked mom at the campsite for alibi and ferried supplies to the AT location.

ETA: With Dawg on the IR, this my be my moment to step up and solve this caper. Baby Eagle gotta fly!

Coroner says she was strangled. Likely a crime of passion rather than premeditated

Not fully immersed in this Murdaughcase but it seems insane. I think three different people have been killed over time and lots of other shady stuff. I just saw this :

Anyone have a good synopsis of this case?

Cliffs: Alex Murdaugh has been arrested. He’s accused of stealing $4.3 million of his late housekeepers insurance settlement!
