Yeah. It would have been ridiculous. Even if Kamala ends up VP it is going to be a contestant target.

No way this guy really looks like this - has to be a college humor skit or something.
Looked up Barry County assuming it would be some tiny county with a population of 1000 or something, but, nope, 60,000 people live there. I wonder what would happen if somoene tried to citizenās arrest that sheriff?
Anyone interested in making a citizenās arrest of Sherriff Dar Leaf?
lol at anyone thinking an ancap is an anarchist, guess they think hitler was a socialist too lol
I remember when it was slightly edgy of me to suggest that left-anarchists exist, that not all anarchists are AnCaps.
Left anarchists are the original anarchists and itās a theory dating back to the mid 1800s. Ancaps are a fairly new thing within the last 50 years or so and unless you donāt think capitalism is hierarchical then it is incompatible with anarchism
My buddy got the Anarchy zine in the early 90s - which for some reason had a pro-NAMBLA piece in almost every edition. Maybe stuff like this is the source of my distrust. Charlatans with a completely different agenda (Rothbard) latch onto the movement and push it for their own reasons.
I believe anachist-istic whatever you want to call it independent communes can work on a small scale - and may be the best for the human condition. IE - I could be convinced that could be the most good for the most people. How to make it work in a world where the first step towards civilization is class division - I dunno.
My first 3 years at Burning Man (98-00) felt like an anarchistic commune utopia where everyone was your best friend. But the last two years, as the population went from 10k my fist year to 30k my last year - seemed to have more and more real-world problems like theft, people filming women w/o their consent, and lots and lots of perverts creep in. It fundamentally changes the whole dynamic when you have to start policing that stuff.
The shitty Anarchy mag was an open attempt to make some $$$$ (fyi: by a police informant). Just like the non-shitty Anarchy Sunglasses are an open attempt to make some $$$$ (fyi: above). SMH.
Visiting Woodstock 99, (very young) to WS 09 I agree.
Woodstock 89 was a pretty ok. A couple thousand people just randomly showed up at the original site and had a party.
Woodstock 79 was like 5 stoners I guess?
Google tells me there was a concert at Madison Square Garden and some other thing out on Long Island. Never heard of either.
I am quite possibly in this video somewhere.
I assume at some point after the election, most of these incidences will go away.
There are many gimmicks that you could have used to convey the same attitude. See: lawbro twitter
Iāve heard the anarchist Kronstadt Hippie Party was a total bad trip manā¦
~rolls eyes~ When peeps are saying stuff like āanarchism is anti-racistā they arenāt talking about shit like Burning Man or Woodstock. WTFBBQ.
Their focus has never really been on economic activism and social justice, but the Rainbow Family is one of the closest approximations to an anarchist society youāre likely to find. And at 50 years old, itās one of the most successful too. Their big annual gatherings draw in tens of thousands of people.
Attendance is open to all interested parties, and decisions are reached through group meetings leading to some form of group consensus.
Very good point. The relevant part of the Wikipedia referenced is quoted.
But, as long as weāre telling Woodstock storiesā¦ I took the bus through Bethel NY a few years later. My gf always has the better stories. From Detroit, she went to Woodstock when she was ~14. She said it was a terrible experience for two children by themselves.
