same with the yankees but theyāre like a B- tier team and are not even close to a world series team. look how much the mets spent to not even make the playoffs. seems like a weird thing to blame with no real solution the players union would accept, other than forcing owners somehow to actually invest in their roster rather than enriching themselves
if people want to blame deferments, banning that would make the dodgers have a defacto advantage for 10 years. nothing stopping other teams from deferring. players go to LA because they wanna win and theyll get paid for winning. Plus the fact no one in these arguments ever wants to mention - when the deferments kick in the dodgers are going to be hobbled and probably worthless for a long time. Itās not like thereās no downside.
lolmets
The Mets are lulz right now, but also one of the few teams that could instantly Voltron form into an unbeatable superteam through free agency.
3/5 of those teams got stomped and arguably 4. again, not sure what the complaint is. if the mets were dominating right now this wouldnt even be a conversation. itās almost like the dodgers are just better.
lol, no they canāt. incompetent management. it seems like the issue people are actually complaining about is friedman is pwning the league
You really donāt see what the problem is? Thereās a team into the tax for almost $600M while half the league is under $200M.
Explain it like Iām 5. I also donāt agree with those numbers, but enlighten me.
Seattle, so hot right now
Welp
Shitty game that I didnāt enjoy watching, but honestly Iād rather deal with that than some heart-wrenching loss in a close game they really should have won. Didnāt want to have to burn up any of the credit we built up in Toronto, butā¦at least that did exist.
I dunno man. A close loss can still leave you feeling like, āWeāll get 'em next time,ā but an ass whooping raises a lot of doubts.
Shrug. Might raise doubts for Kirby next time he has to take the mound. Not taking much else away from it. Toronto is coming off their own ass-whooping in the last game.
I hear you, and yet,
As a Toronto sports fan, I donāt think the Mariners have anything to worry about
Hopefully last night wasnāt a dead cat bounce and Scherzer can summon his powers one more time tonight to make this a series.
Big money buy good player.
Small money buy bad player.
dodgers are unstoppable
that zone made no sense all game though
Random mindblowing stats I just saw while checking something at BR ā there is not a single active pitcher under the age of 30 with more than 70 career wins, and not a single one under the age of 33 with 110.
Itās incredible how much the game has changed.
