well it is possible some are legit and some others are bullshit

The one in Ohio had a similar pattern as the California woman if I remember right. That pattern was (1) ask for rough sex (2) send demand letters for millions of dollars (3) claim you were assaulted when denied the money. Dunno if that happened in every case or if the details are even public.

I think the new system is better than the previous. Every team gets at least 2 games, while having best record actually matters. Obviously playoffs with every round at least best of five would be better. But once you expand, I think this is a step up from the old system of wild cards getting one game and no byes.
The biggest problem with the new system is that it can be better in the divisional round to be the 2 seed than the 1 seed.
This is kinda the case in the AL this year, where Astros (the 2 seed) were guaranteed to face either the team with the worst record or 2nd to worst record.
If one division is super, super strong one year, then it could be the case that the three best teams by far are the 1, 4, 5 seeds and only one of them would have a chance to make it to the LCS.
This is going to be the case the most often. The wild card teams usually come from the same divisions as the 1 and 2 seed just by probability and many times be better than the 3rd. Itâs rigged against the 1 seed lol.
The Blue Jays were actually tanking their last game to avoid the 1 seed side. Didnât work outâŚ
And the solution is so obvious:
Guarantee the 3 division winners a playoff spot, but do the seedings by record. If you want to guarantee the two best division winners get a bye, fine (though I would not agree this is best).
