Major League Baseball (Part 2)

So the only thing we have to cheer for tomorrow is the Angels winning by 15 to clinch worst season ever honors for the As?

Wakefield passes away, by all reports a good dude

Schilling by all reports a piece of shit is still alive

RIP Wake. I hope he never knew that his personal business was shared against his wishes by one of the worst people ever.

What an absolute ■■■■ Schill is. To do that while Wake is on his fucking deathbed is… monstrous. Something a fucking cartoon villain does. I absolutely hope Schilling’s death is painful when he goes.

Blue Jays so smart to just throw this game away. WC2 is so, so, so much worse than WC3. Unfortunately for the Astros, them winning their game (up by 5 currently) is a poisoned chalice unless the Rangers lose. At least the Mariners seem to be trying to play spoiler.

Six outs to score eight more.

Stupid Angels

They did put in a valiant effort today though

Hahaha get fucked Rangers. Lose 0-1 to a team just eliminated, so instead of getting a bye, they have to play against the Rays without homefield advantage

Wakefield had an absolutely fascinating career, 200 wins but he had only 14 wins going into his age 28 season. Then he was a perfectly serviceable middle of the rotation starter for 15 years.

Padres finish above .500 with the 3rd best run diff in NL. If the season was 10 games longer they probably get in.

Most notable baseball thing he did was give up the HR to boone in 2003. Got his WS so doesn’t matter.

Not something analytics can evaluate but hitters hated to face him because knuckleball timing messes hitters up. You don’t want that one day then a guy bringing the heat the next.

started out as a hitter, and was one of the last knuckleballers, and certainly the longest lasting one in the recent era. hit one HR as a pirate, he clobbered that thing too.

A unique career and everyone’s saying great things about him today.

Thing is, I don’t think anyone held the Boone HR against him (Grady should have taken Pedro out…). He was universally respected and was loved by Sox fans. Saved so many bullpen innings by being a rubber arm with that knuckleball. RIP. Fuck Schilling.

didn’t realize Greinke was still pitching, he went 2-15 this year with less than 100 Ks in 150 IP :harold:

and here I read your post and went, oh that’s nice he won his final start today cause he had 1.

Yeah he’s done basically but his team had I think two starters that were worse than he was. That’s how bad the royals were.

He seems like one of those guys that just loves and lives the game. They’ll have to drag him off the field like Rickey.

Cliffs: Trevor Bauer domestic violence charge dropped and he publicly shares the evidence that led to that outcome.

Brewers SP Brandon Woodruff is probably out for the playoffs. The injury that kept him out 4 months this year has flared up again. So there goes a big part of the team’s pitching advantage. Yay.
