How can you have a Field of Dreams game and build an outfield wall instead of letting them hit balls into the corn?
This game pisses me off for fantasy purposes because I was supposed to have Lynn facing the Twins yesterday, now he gets the Yankees in a goddamn cornfield.

Leaving $23 million on the table retiring early.
Steve Lyons once told me that this story is true:
He has an interesting career. And got paid $$$ for that big season (well, two big seasons).
Here’s a curiosity - what player has the highest ratio Career Salary : Career WAR? Davis made $165M for just 12 career WAR - $13M+ per win! Can anyone beat that?
Ryan Howard is close - career WAR 14.9, career salary $190Mish, $12.75M per win.
Juan Castro was in the MLB for 17 seasons.
Only made about $8 million over that time span, but not bad for someone with a career WAR of negative 5.4.
Good catch, you’d have to rule out negative WAR players or the ratios won’t work. Or I guess you could try some other measure that doesn’t go negative.
Because of wage inflation, there is a recency bias in the ratios. One interesting case that would be in contention if adjusted for inflation is Kaz Sasaki. $21.7M : 3.7 WAR, but the $21.7 is from 20 years ago! Probably there’s a lot of closers on the list if we can actually obtain the whole dataset easily, they tend to have high wages for short periods of time where even when they’re good they don’t accumulate a lot of WAR.
The Dyersville fence is apparently removable so players can walk out of the corn for pregame intros.
Not that anybody at this point doesn’t realize it, but if somebody looked at the standings and wondered, “How in the world are the Brewers in first place with Yelich, Hiura, and Bradley Jr combining to be below replacement value and Cain missing a lot of games,” here’s why:

Just thought it was a cool visual.
Field Of Creamed
Kevin Costner had gone full George Hamilton.
I have to admit I’m kind of into this. Although Bull Durham > Field of Dreams.
LOL he just said “shit” on national T.V.
My hot take is that For Love of the Game is very underrated. Yeah, the love story sucks, but the baseball part is pretty solid.
Never seen it!
Good lord A Rod is a terrible actor.
A Rod just strikes me as a moron.
I’m watching my free hour of Fox Sports…on the pregame.
Also, I’ll be very disappointed if they don’t get James Earl Jones to announce something here.
also…hehehe:
