Yeah. I wish that part of the game would go away. It was cute at first, but I would have liked to have asked LaRussa what the entertainment value is in watching batters take 3-0 pitches from position players. Its ridiculous that we have to watch that. Why can’t real pitchers throw 45mph pitches if they’ve quit on the game?

I only recently noticed how good Buddy Bell was as a player. I started watching baseball as a kid in the mid 80s and he was around but wasn’t really a noteworthy player at that point. I mostly think of Bell as a kind of stupid manager, but that dude had a 66 WAR career with 2500 hits. That’s pretty good!

Another great edition of Profiles in Baseball Managing here. Top 10 with Moustakas having made the final out in 9th. Moose coming off a nearly season-long heel injury and is even slower than usual. Lorenzen (fast runner) pitched Bot 9 for the hold and could stay in on a switch, but he’s also coming off an injury that was caused by running the bases the last time he attempted it.
