Major League Baseball (Part 1)

Yeah I guess that’s probably all true. Seems like if it can just stick to the wall it would be obvious even if it bounced into the stands or whatever, but maybe not. I suppose its also possible the pitchers could have something on their fingers that doesn’t leave a residue on the ball. Either way, just check the pitchers when they come on the field and off the field. Seems trivial to stop.

LOL Umps (but also LOL Yankees). 9th inning of tied game with winning run on 3rd - perfect time to call this strike 3.

Lol pirates kid hits a home run of Buehler in the first, proceed to not touch first base.

Also thats a pretty dumb unnecessary rule

don’t get why people think touching a base is an unnecessary rule, it’s the entire point of the game.

For the same reason that pitching 4 balls on purpose was dumb and they changed it so you can just say you’re walking someone.

When the outcome is clear and undeniable, the technicalities don’t add anything to the game.

But that’s just like my opinion, man.

First base isn’t some technicality. To score a run you have to circle the bases.

This is ridic anyway it’s far easier to just step on the stupid base and stop being dumb about it.

I guess you are arguing they should just walk back to the dugout and put a run on the board. That’s dumb too but that’s a better argument at least.

You just said that you have to do it because that’s the rule. That is a great rebuttal if someone said it wasn’t the rule.

In rec league softball we’d always let the fat lazy dudes just go right back to the dugout after hitting a homer.

I like baseball being our weird and quirky sport with lots of traditions and rules that dont always make perfect sense but whatever.

Touching the bases isn’t even a quirky rule tho. Dafuq is going on in this thread?

Not touching first is a clown move.
