Umps are like the Supreme Court. Still locked in on ideology from decades ago and refuse to acknowledge the evidence in front of you.

Lol that’s so stupid.
In last night’s Yankee game, Cole gave up 2 home runs on 0-2 counts. Michael Kay and Paul O’Neill were saying years ago, a pitcher would be fined by the team for doing that. But now with pitch counts, pitchers are more aggressive on 0-2 counts.
The pitch he hit for a home run was a 45 mph pitch from Willians Astudillo the twins catcher.

This makes me irrationally angry. I hope the next time he goes up there in a blowout win he just never takes the bat off his shoulder and then asks LaRussa if that’s better
It is also an irrational thought. Was he suppose to take a walk? Astudillo couldn’t throw a strike if his life depended on it. They would just prolong the farce.
My brain can’t even comprehend how stupid it is.
These guys’ entire livelihood is based on the stats that they put up. Zero chance I’d give away a professional at bat because some dumb old man was pining for the good old days.

i honestly don’t understand how hitting a pitch on a 3-0 from a position player is disrespecting the game, but letting a dude throw 45 mph fastballs is perfectly fine.
