Padres signing and trading for everyone I’m fucking done. Mets have done Jack fucking shit. They should literally trade deGrom for a massive haul and do a 3 year rebuild while the Padres and Dodgers fight it out.
So let me get this straight, the Chicago Cubs salary dumped the #2 vote gettor for the cy young for four teenagers where all our scouting reports on them are over a year old because of the pandemic. Also may be paying part of yu’s salary and they threw in another valuable player.
The padres had 6 top 100 prospects, traded for clevenger, darvish, snell and only gave up 2 of the 6.

I think teams are realizing there’s no point in trying to compete and are hoping to rise from the ashes after Doyas/Friars melt themsleves in mutually assured destruction. Proxy war?

I think it’s time for us to jump on the Padres bandwagon. We can hop back off as soon as they’re bad. It’s the San Diego transplant way.

seems different, those trades were for guys nobody thought were that good, Yu was 2nd in cy voting and Snell just won it a few years ago and got pulled in a WS game he shouldn’t have been.
also somehow they traded shields for tatis, jr when shields wouldn’t have gotten his own contract in free agency
