Trudeau couldn’t force a 10 year old against the wall! Chrétien would kick his ass today at 87!
didn’t he box a conservative once? i’m assuming he apologized profusely afterwards
Calling this election seems like such a huge enforced error for the Liberals. They were dreaming if they thought they could get a majority.
Trudeau fucked around and is about to find out.
Funny thing is I’d bet $1,000 less than 15% of Canadians could pick O’Toole out of a lineup and he still might win!
I know I couldn’t.
The election definitely feels like an opportunity to vote against Liberals if you feel like they didn’t handle the pandemic well. Thats a pretty tough environment for the incumbent.
Wish people would vote against liberals by voting for ndp instead of conservatives, he says dreaming.
I don’t think a snap election helps the Liberals either. Really easy to emotionally vote against them.
is it easier to vote for conservatives?
Well not for me. I have never voted conservative ever. But I imagine someone who sometimes votes Conservative and sometimes Liberal could be swayed to vote for against the incumbent for calling a snap election during a pandemic.
I will say the only thing keeping me from utter despair is O’Toole appears to represent the slightly less insane wing of the Conservative party.
Unfortunately, a majority of his expected caucus will come from the more insane wing.
Aka where I live!
I don’t like Trudeau much, I think he means well, but isn’t all that smart. I don’t like O’Toole and don’t trust him. Singh is cool, but I have less than 0 trust in their ability to govern and hate their platform. Ideally the Liberals get another minority, but a Conservative minority where they need help from either the Liberals or NDP and can’t just form a coalition with the Bloc would be good. The reason is they would be neutered and then Freeland can become the leader and get a majority
Things are still going great for the Green Party I see.
Seems like we’re on track for a pretty boring day (which is probably the best outcome). Likely Liberals get a tiny minority, the Cons convene another post mortem to figure out why people won’t vote for them not matter how much they promise the public that they will never help them, the NDP argue amongst themselves about whether the election was a massive success or a massive failure. Probably the most significant outcome may be that the Green Party civil war kills them and they effectively merge with the NDP or the Liberal party.
I guess a Con shocker where they eke out a minority government is a non-zero probability event but it seems like Bernier has succeeded in his Revenge Vanity Project and has attracted a lot of the most vociferous Trudeau Haters to his party. They have 7% of the popular vote at last count! Shallow grievance works in Canada too I guess.
In Calgary and there are a lot of PPoC signs in public places where you see all candidates signs. There seems to be more PPoC signs than anything else which is just indicative of the party placing those signs down more often. Even saw 5 people on the side of a busy road with a PPoC banner asking people to honk. Nobody in Toronto would dare be caught publicly supporting that party
I live in a rural community north of Toronto and there are tons of PPC signs here. Our Con candidate is going to win easily but there is a deep deplorable base here, I bet they get 5% of the vote.
