I know, I always see huge displays of them at Superstore. No evidence anyone has ever bought one.
Wow are we doing an absolute awful job at vaccinations. So brutal. Alberta proudly announced 50,000 people have been vaccinated. 50,000!
No schedule announced yet. No plan. No vaccination centres.
Itās criminal.
People here need to go to jail.

Its not just Alberta. Basically all of Canadaās public sector decided that providinf vaccines is, like, super hard and someone else should do it.

Ya it really is just nuts. We were doing so well and when it comes to the one yard line the entire government has basically said fuck it. This is too hard. Crazy thing itās itās conservatives and liberals. Everyone sucks. Not one place doing a good job, left or right.
I canāt tell and I have been following it closely. It seems like we didnāt order enough and then are just waiting in line with no political pressure as shipments keep getting shorted.
Isreal has 1/3 our population but still 9 million and 2/3rds of their population has one dose.
Itās just criminal.

Also, we need to slash a MASSIVE amount of our military budget and reallocate it to creating vaccine research and manufacturing facilities in Canada.
This total reliance on the global market is fucking insane.
We are 14th in the world on defence spending as percent of GDP. $22B! Fucking insane. Slash this in half and put $11B in vaccine and pandemic preparedness.
I think most of the long-term care homes here have received the first dose of the vaccine which is good but this is the only vaccinations Iāve heard of locally.
Also headlines locally the last two days are:
- some gyms will reopen on Tuesday
- Casino will open with restrictions on Wednesday
and also
- hospital reopens covid-19 unit
- hospital anticipating more covid-19 admission
Itās insanity.

Opening casinos is nuts! At least Alberta isnāt doing that.
Ya itās dumb. Iāve just read up on some restrictions and it seems only 10 people are allowed in at once which makes the opening even dumber. If we move out of the āred zoneā the casino will be allowed to serve 50 people.

Iām not quite up to speed on all the political nuances of getting more vaccines but it is apparently clear that going forward we should be a nation of self reliance and be able to manufacture PPE and vaccines etc. in the future and not reliant on other countries that can restrict the supplies at will.
