LOL politics in the rest of the world outside the US, Canada, Europe and China

Seems so :harold:

This is just for PM though - domestic policy. Not for President (Macron will still lead). Not sure if Le Pen is eligible for PM or would want it.

It’s so insane watching nazi come back to power in the place where less than 100 years ago they caused global destruction.

Shows how incredibly strong hatred of the other is for so many humans.

This isn’t the biden thread

I’m (fortunately?) swamped with work for the next 2 weeks so don’t have time to follow political news but yeah French politics seem to be approaching US-levels of wtf/waaf at the moment.
(At least the memes are funny)

(France is in Europe btw)

Looks like Argentina’s congress votes to give up its power for a year because of a state of emergency with few days. What could go wrong. Adolf couldnt have done it cleaner.

What’s happening in France is the same thing that would be happening if bobman and simp ran things there.

Left + libs can form a government over the fash, but libs refuse

GJGE. Certainly can’t think of any horrifying results in history from this kind of thing

Bangladesh protests keep escalating.

This article gives a decent overview but is bullshit both sidesing it.

The government responded to student protests with murders, live bullets, internet black outs and mass arrests. Believe it or not, that didn’t work.

This doesn’t fade away, either the government falls or ramps up the oppression further to even more frightening levels.

This has the interesting part. Classic revolution

"The news that Yunus would lead the interim government came amid reports that Bangladesh’s army chief, Gen Waker-Uz-Zaman, told Hasina’s office that troops would not be able to enforce a curfew she had called for amid the protests, the night before she fled the country.

Hasina’s army chief held a meeting with his generals and decided that troops would not open fire on civilians to enforce the lockdown, according to two serving army officers with knowledge of the discussions, according to Reuters."

Also. Having Yunus as the leader feels like a blast from the past. I learned a lot about him during my undergrad in early 2000s

Some of the protests are attacking Hindus and destroying temples. In a few years are people going to put Yunus in the same category as Aung San Suu Kyi?

I haven’t seen that. Can you share some links?

Also, anything is possible but I don’t think the behaviour of the protesters has anything to do with Yunus. He hasn’t really been involved and is in Paris doing work for the Olympics. The protesters asked for him, not the other way around. I believe because they wanted someone credible not tied to either major party.

WTF Canada? Inflation is causing you to traffic your children? First the soccer spying scandal and now this. My worldview is shattered.

This is like saying people in the past never had autism because it wasn’t diagnosed.

We have a Canada thread

edit: too lazy to directly reply to Suzzer.

Heh, I searched for Canada and saw it in the thread title.
