Japan is getting ready to select a new Prime Minister, as Kishida will be stepping down next month.

Of course, in the parliamentary system, the People don’t directly have a say in who gets appointed and, in a way, it’s a relief to not have to devote a major portion of one’s mental and emotional energy to the matter.

Someone new will get appointed, the People will give a collective shrug of the shoulders, and life will go on much as before.
