LOL LAW

I don’t know how common this is, but it seems especially humiliating:

IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that Plaintiffs’ attorneys shall each complete at least twelve (12) hours of continuing legal education in the subjects of pleading standards (at least six hours total) and election law (at least six hours total)

Back to school ya fuckin’ morons.

That’s just a bit of a shiv. I’ve seen like 2-4 hrs, but 12 hours with 6 on pleading standards is basically an FU. It’s also something where the judge will be able to personally monitor compliance (as opposed to discipline referrals to state bars).

This is a satisfying read. The section on Linn Wood is especially chef’s kiss

Jesus Christ.

Holy fuck, this country is wild.

I hold out hope the dead guy’s family sue him into oblivion.

The dude pulled a Kendall Roy and 100% got away with it, just incredible.

That definitely seems to happen often to powerful white dudes.

This guys kills a dude and goes free. I just read a story about some girl who walked off a trail and onto a geyser in Yellowstone that’s getting a week in jail.

The only way these guys get consequences is vigilante justice. Some asshole trust funder in SC (Paul Murdaugh) drove a boat blacked out drunk and killed a girl and absolutely nothing happened, then after like 3 years somebody shot him. (To be fair it’s not clear it was actually vigilante justice but it was very clear the justice system wasn’t going to do shit - they didn’t even give him a breath test at the scene).

Your pony also killed a pedestrian last year

lolololololololllllll of course

Goes to show how much of this stuff is class as well as race, because I really find it hard to imagine a poor white guy getting away with that with no jail time.

Fucking resign!

This probably makes him more committed to staying.

From what I’ve read this was probably the correct decision legally speaking.

This is the ultimate bad facts/bad law decision. The statutory interpretation is really dubious. They don’t want to admit that the statute says that the CDC can do whatever it needs to stop a pandemic, because then they can’t overturn the eviction moratorium, so they have this ridiculous argument that actually the CDC can only inspect livestock and fumigate oranges, because that’s what the statute mentions as examples.

Biden admin was really dumb to let this decision happen. It was 100% obvious they were going to lose, and they just bulled ahead and made the Court cripple the CDC’s powers.

When are people going to realize there is basically no such thing as right and wrong legal decisions. It’s a 9 person super-legislature and Dems have been badly outplayed.
