Why not? They’re all going to get pardoned by the next Republican president anyways

Most law thing ever.

“You’re in contempt!”

“Man sounds bad, what’s the punishment?”

“Literally nothing.”

Has anyone heard that Kim kardashian is trying to become a lawyer?

Apparently in California you can take a pre bar examine to qualify for the bar but attempts are limited (I think two or theee). She failed her first attempt.

Part of me hopes she succeeds.

I don’t know all of the specifics, but in Cali there is an alternate process where, instead of going to law school, you work as an apprentice for a few years (4 iirc) and take that one day exam (that she failed, but will probably retake).

She’s been doing most of her apprentice work with a criminal justice reform organization founded by Van Jones. Her celebrity has already brought some attention to the issue, and it seems like she genuinely cares about the topic, so if she’s willing to put in the time to pass the exam, I think I’m cool with it, too.

Wisconsin’s Senate approves a bill allowing 14 year olds to work as late as 11 p.m., and supporters say it could help plug the labor shortage

A proposed bill would allow 14 and 15 year olds in Wisconsin to work as late as 11 p.m…
Supporters say it could help plug the state’s labor shortage.
Federal child-labor laws say under-16s must stop work at 9 p.m. or 7 p.m., depending on the time of year.

“Wisconsin law allows children as young as six to be transferred to corporation camps to live, work and if possible school. Children will automatically be discharged at the age of eighteen or through a court hearing.”

Most of the child labor laws in the US are not much more than 100 years old.

#1 feeder school for clerking for right wing judges, not to mention an academic environment should be hostile to bigots, the whole deal is you’re free to believe it and everyone else is free to tell you it’s bad

If it boosts your odds of SC clerkship that much, if I went to Yale Law, I’d think long and hard about being fake conservative for 5-10 yrs. Just outward appearances. As much as I could get away with without actually doing stuff. I’d still vote D, but I just wouldn’t tell anyone about it.

Honestly, the hard part would be turning it off. It seems like you can milk that for a lot of career advancement. That will end the day you decide to stop living the lie.

The underlying assumption is that “faking it” is practical. I suppose it is possible that it may not be.
