I have it on good (Facebook) authority that the media is all liberal.
It’s not stupidly, it’s evil. They don’t want their friend to lose their power so are terrorizing us with the possibility of a R governor of California if people decide they don’t like him.
They helped Trump himself in 2016 with the same evil strategy in mind:

I don’t think the strategy was evil; lots of people (myself included) thought that Trump would be the easiest opponent to beat.

He was thought to be the easiest to beat because…. he would be such an obvious disaster as President. That’s terrorism! Make me (Hillary) President or else the whole world is going down. They used their relationships with the media to elevate Trump and subject us to that choice.

Yeah, it’s a really fine line to walk. Direct antagonism of mainstream dems can get you a fairly large progressive activist following and help you raise a ton of money if you have the right connections like Turner had. But it can also limit your ceiling with normies as is what seemed to happen here.
