We already went through this with Ilhan. It’s totally normal to have a pro Israel PAC outspend all other groups combined in an Ohio dem primary, and it’s anti Semitic to claim that spending has any effect on US policy towards Israel.
Turner is almost uniquely terrible at optics. Would have preferred her over Brown ldo.
It died in March 2020 unfortunately. At least if we are talking about amy chance for national influence in the next decade.
I mean we still had a chance to slowly start taking over the house, but the democratic power machine are on to us now and will crush every attempt to gain a seat.
The tea party was able to get like 100 seats in one election. Then again they weren’t a threat to the rich or capital.
They were not. It shouldn’t be forgotten, but often is, that the Tea Party was funded by the Koch brothers.
The Tea Party were the most obvious Useful Idiots of all time.
Military and police budgets are supposed to go down when you get the fascists out of power, not up.
Tea Party was extremely good at targeting winnable downballot races and small-ticket races. The left could learn a lot from their tactics.
Tea Party got many millions of dollars from mega billionaires.
Turns out that pursuing power ruthlessly is more efficient than pursuing power apologetically.
The left is not apologetic.
Or were you talking about the Democratic Party?
Sorry, I meant the establishment Dems 100%.
Yes. And they used that money extremely effectively.
They aren’t pursuing power for its own sake either though. The way power works in this country is that at every level they offer you an opportunity to do something really good in exchange for most of your power. The left takes that deal almost every chance they get and thus never accumulate any power.
We’re headed for the full systemic collapse cliff in our lifetimes and I’m reaching the point of accepting that the brake lines were cut long ago.
We talk about the Dems as the Washington Generals alot, but another apt sports analogy would be that they’re like the Moneyball A’s except they gave all the influence to the dinosaur scouts and they drummed Beane out of the organization. They’re choosing to play with the lower payroll AND the archaic strategy.
The progressives don’t have much money. And the Kochs and their friends do a lot more than just the tea party. They took over almost every radio and TV station in the country. Think about that.
Probably will be more of a chance for progressives within the Democratic Party in the medium term as after the ‘22 elections the Dems won’t be in power again for a generation at minimum. Probably more of an appetite for change will develop.
Not sure how useful a more left party will be in GOP sets the election rules world with an ACB swing vote Supreme Court, but the eDems time in power at least has a very short lifespan left. Pelosi and Schumer will be virtually irrelevant come January ‘23.
Yes, I know, you’re not listening.
The left not having money is all the more reason they should consider the kinds of Moneyball strategery that helped the Tea Party.
And the corporate media isn’t good either. Every progressive will get hamstrung by CNN, MSNBC, WaPo etc.
The Moneyball strategy is doing effective things on the cheap. You’re not listening. The Tea Party had money. It being grass roots was fake.
