Itâs still a good idea. Better to be like âWe voted for Medicaid and Republicans took it awayâ than âweâre not even going to try because whatâs the point?â
thatâs impossible. i was told democrats donât have it in them to play hardball
Lolololololol imagine thinking this

The only dishonest pandering here is claiming that what she said isnât trivially true.
Itâs an intentionally misleading question as well. It is not the primary purpose of Unemployment Insurance to stimulate the job market. That should be evident from the name and headline purpose of the program. This is really bullshit conservative framing along the lines of âwelfare traps people in dependencyâ.
Thatâs a fair point for some. One cop died so I donât think it is true of all the cops that day though.
As I said, I agree with you. It was a bad vote. Giving cops more money is nuts. They should have far less, nationwide.
All I was arguing for was some understanding as to why someone like AOC might cast such a clearly dumb vote when we know she is not a dumb person.
Itâs true but in a totally meaningless way. Iâm certain that getting a big inheritance leads to not wanting to get a job. So is it true that cutting or eliminating inheritance tax leads to less employment? Trivially yes but thatâs never a question that will be asked hen the topic of âdeath taxesâ comes up. The act of asking the question includes the hidden assumption that âless employmentâ for whatever reason is a bad thing. If I hit the lottery Iâm gonna have 0% employment for the rest of my life but Iâm damn sure itâd be a good thing.
Whatâs noteworthy is how Stansbury rebutted these attacks. She ran her own ad featuring law enforcement denouncing the âliesâ that she supports defunding police and vouching for her support for funding âtools we need to fight violent crime.â
hahaha weâre all fucked. The âLetâs pretend weâre Republicans!â strategy has paid off so well over the last 30 years, letâs see if we can convince everyone that actually weâre the pro-cops party. Dems just narrowly won by getting black voters in the South but now theyâre going to assfuck all of those constituents in order to reach out to unwinnable diner slobs in Ohio, like they always do. DeSantis '24 ought to be like 0.75 on PI.
Literally the next sentence:
But, importantly, when questioned by reporters, Stansbury also continued to insist on the importance of systemic racism as a societal problem, including its impact on policing, requiring reform.
âItâs absolutely essential that we continue to fight for racial justice,â Maloney told me, adding that this neednât be diminished by the âthe urgency of responding to a lieâ about support for defunding the police: âYou can do both.â
Itâs not so much that theyâre pretending as much as the people theyâre pandering to know they donât actually believe it like the R politicians saying this shit. Ted Cruz doesnât get a bunch of cops to record a clip saying âThis guyâs a real bootlicker, you can trust him!â he does dumb shit like wrapping bacon around a gun to cook it to show that heâs just your typical run of the mill Texan.
Dems cosplay as bootlickers, Republicans LARP it.
Seriously. Clovis needs to stop making shit up that contradicts Victorâs obviously made up shit.
Having a lot of donor overlap seems terrible.
I think the numbers are less interesting than the people. Shows an ability to build a coalition. Ammar donors gave almost as much to Katie Porter and Rashida Tlaib as they did to other eDems.
Yangâs donors donât really like any other democrat.
Occurs to me that there are a small set of donors who dominate the party and donate to many of the candidates and if you satisfy this small set of donors it looks like youâve built a coalition.
Yangâs donors actually like Yang, not generic Democratic Party Candidate who is expected to toe the line.
That makes sense based on the internet Yang crowd. They were often closer to libertarian than typical Dem, from what I saw.
