She was first put on the Judiciary Committee in 1993, the first woman to serve on it, after being elected in the aftermath of the all-white male questioning of Anita Hill. I don’t think there was any way of taking her off that committee while she still has a Senate seat.

Is this true? Would be stupid, but that’s kind of on brand for the LOL senate.
The Senate runs on seniority. There’s no practical way to curtail a very senior senator without their consent.
