Jesus, please just let her retire. I heard that one consideration is the funerals that legislators get are nicer than ex-legislators and Iâm willing to pass a law that says all ex-legislators get the same funeral if it means these crypt keeper senators shuffle off to their mansions to have some home care workers help live their lives out peacefully.

Wouldnât quitting now screw Dems on judges? I thought Rs had to approve replacement on committee so better for her to show up and just vote how told - even if she has no clue what sheâs doing.
Well, the only reason Republicans get to block her replacement is Dems adhering to idiotic norms, so itâs hard to have much sympathy.
Doesnât she have some great great great grandchildren to put some sense into her?

i think i read somewhere that the process for filling a vacancy is different than the process for a temporary replacement on a committee. and that was the sticking point on why people wanted her to gtfo completely.
the staff are getting to functionally BE the senator from California⌠why the hell would they want her to quit. i would assume who ever is running her weekend at bernies style is basking in the power of being a US senator without having to go through the trouble of an election.
