Wow, can’t believe Biden couldnt whip up the votes for BBB and the progressives gave away their bargaining chip for an empty promise and a bag full of dicks.
Also can’t believe the United States of Joe Manchin continues to run the country singlehandedly with style and aplomb surrounded by cuck losers.
All of this so that the Democrats don’t have to get their hands dirty. All of it. God forbid they break a single norm or bend a single rule.
This is why I can’t stand people who care more about rules than they do about outcomes for actual people. The rules exist to create good outcomes and when they stop doing that it’s time for them to change.
The only possible ending left for the US is some kind of collapse… and all I have left to retain any hope for is myself and the people I care about.
The Democrats are exactly as evil as the GOP. That’s a statement I now believe to be 100% true. The fact that their primary form of sin is omission instead of commission makes them more nefarious not less.
I mean they really want us to believe that they’re willing to let the country burn so that they don’t have to coerce or bribe Manchin and Sinema. That’s bullshit, those two are just the people tanking the blame for the party and it’s donors.
r/antiwork is getting more done for the average person in the US than the Democrats are, and that’s with absolutely no real power besides telling workers that they have the upper hand in wage negotiations for once.
I agree with you on this. I think this concept is probably better conceived as the value proposition of institutions. Institutions add HUGE value to society when they are: competent, ethical, and trusted. The issues we face today with respect to “rules” are really a byproduct of real or perceived deterioration in these three areas.
you’re right they should get rid of Social Security, Medicare, and everything else gov’t does and let the people just go on their own. Everyone would be better off.
Or they could get rid of things like the enormous tax cut for the rich that was part of BBB. No one here is arguing for the government to spend less on anything but the “defense” budget that somehow needed an extra $28 billion this year and there’s nobody (maybe Cactus) who would advocate for reducing social programs in any way.
Neither party actually wants the White House - House - Senate trifecta because then you have to actually pass legislation, it’s much better to only have 1 or 2 of the three so you can blame your lack of progress on not having full control and let the donations roll in.
