My late-step-f-in-law died with maybe as much as $11m which he got solely from a long career as a civil servant with a long paid retirement, growing up in the depression and being very careful with money, and putting savings in real estate (never owned more than 2 houses and was not a landlord) and very conservative stonks - and living to be 96.
(no, I didn’t get any of it. ~all of it went to grandchildren from a previous marriage. Might have only been $4m. I’ve heard different reports.)

From what I’ve seen shitlib politicians and judges don’t believe in anything besides having power and personal benefit, while Republican ones actually care about their ideology.
Of course she will die a week after GOP governor is sworn in.
Although if Newsom does lose, hopefully the legislature will quickly pass something stripping the governor from picking the replacement and giving it to someone else. Probably just getting pressured into not doing it right away in the same way dems are being pressured into not being on the ticket against Newsom.

Whoops! Maybe this forum can self reflect about giving up on Bernie when he still had small but non zero equity. I guess you guys just liked reading Clovis posts that much 
Pretty sure like 80% of the forum was pro Bernie with lots of us donating and volunteering door to door.
Bernie would have been a lot better in certain issues, but he would be getting hammered worse in the media and less would have gotten done legislatively. I don’t even know if Manchin and Cinema pass the covid relief bill, and if they do they cut out a lot more. We would still be looking at being completely fucked in the mid terms, voter suppression, democracy crumbling etc.
We really needed like 55 senate seats and more house seats to stand a chance. We needed the wave the polls were predicting. We needed a resounding defeat of Trumpism and Republican support.
