I gave my own is that not the way too go?
The Boxer by David Simon.
The Blair witch project by Eduardo Sanchez & Daniel Myrick.
As I understand the Q better now.
The Wire by Paul Simon
Boston - More Than a Feeling
The first 2 Boston albums are both nearly perfect but this is their iconic song.
Boogie Nights is pretty good but Magnolia is PTA’s masterpiece. I am aware that I’m the only person who thinks this. I also really liked Hard Eight.
I’d say hardeight was my Fav gambling movie with it being so dark and of the times.
I dunno what suzzer wants exactly. I could make a case against Bohemian Rhapsody as a huge Queen fan: try listening to it a million times for the next 25 years; the novelty of it wears off pretty quickly. It’s a long unstructured song that kind of drags on. Sometimes I wonder if it seems better than it is because it breaks up the monotony of similar-tempo, similar-format (ABABCB) songs in playlists. Like just within the Queen discography itself I don’t even think it’s the best song of that style and would take March of the Black Queen over it any day but how many people have heard that?
Salieri gets slighted again
Probably the 1st time I listened to that Queen song.
My utter hatred for Magnolia is enough to keep me from watching more PTA movies out of fear they’ll be similar.
Yeah for Queen I don’t get a clear #1 signal. We will rock you/we are the champions is pretty awesome.
My personal favorite is Another One Bites the Dust - but I wouldn’t hold it up a clear #1. I love the guitar melody starting about 2:38:
They also had Freeze Frame. So I’ll allow it. And completely agree about Centerfold.

No - I specifically said they must have at least 4-5 other hits. No Dexy’s Midnight Runners.
This one’s a pretty good example. I like Foreplay/Long Time when played together. But More than a Feeling is the instant classic.
Speaking of instant classics - another one that is so clear it might even be trivial - Oasis - Wonderwall.
Say say two thousand zero zero party over, oops, out of time
So tonight I’m gonna party like it’s Nineteen Ninety-Nine
I’ll party like it’s 1999 When Doves Cry
The last time anybody cared about that song was 1989.
If Prince has a clear #1 it’s When Doves Cry. Your brain partied too hard in 1999.
If anyone says either Radiohead - Creep or R.E.M.- Losing My Religion we’re going to have a fight on our hands. I agree that Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody is a no brainer though.
As for actual contributions to this thread, I love all 3 of these bands but there’s little doubt that they each have a single stand-out pinnacle:
Arctic Monkeys - I Bet You Look Good On The Dancefloor
Arcade Fire - Rebellion (Lies)
Pink Floyd - Shine On You Crazy Diamond
