This is going to be such a hard needle to thread for Republicans in the years to come. Trump was such a weird Cult of Personality to pull together their coalition to give lip service to working class and uneducated people while really working to give all the benefits of their controlling government to rich people.
With the population and voting population becoming more and more educated, it’s hard to see this coalition improving its standing going forward. I think the Trump 4 years has been a scary and strange bump in the road, but so much of what rang true about the GOP after the Romney loss still holds true today.
