I can only speak to Last pod but I don’t agree that it does.
10 years too late but better than never I guess.
Edit:
I didn’t know this part…
Well I can’t prove it does so I guess we’re at an impasse lol.
I would agree if it was all just law and order and lock up the animals! I think you could argue that cop shows are way worse.
Also I have a few to catchup on and I will definitely listen more intently and think upon this, will let you know if I notice anything one way or another.
Sure, stuff like COPS and America’s Dumbest P̶o̶o̶r̶ ̶P̶e̶o̶p̶l̶e̶ Criminals is definitely much worse. I’m not trying to say it’s something the people making the product are aware of or want (and I still listen to a ton of it), it’s just something I suspect.
What the fuck?
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! It’s an onion life.
The Ottawa thing has to be a dumb racist bit, there’s no way this dude doesn’t know how to say it
I don’t think many people check out the “What Are You Listening To” thread so I’m dropping this here as group therapy. A foreword on the making of this video as it is one of the simplest yet coolest ideas I’ve seen in a music video.
Friday Morning is a love song, written and recorded at the remote farm in Burton, Texas where Khruangbin got its start. To commemorate the song, the band asked their closest friends and family to record messages of love to each band member. The music video is a portrait of the band hearing these audio recordings for the first time, capturing on film the emotions one feels when they hear just how loved they are; a poignant and heartfelt expression in a time where, as a collective whole, we need to hear and express love more than ever.
Interesting article but it only pays lip service the the number one factor in his precedency; he was black in America.
He simply wasn’t afforded the right to be a brawler.
Look at how Kamala had to act in the debate last week. Talk to women about her performance and how she was clearly moderating herself for fear of being seen as “an angry black women”.
It’s 15 years later and it hasn’t changed.
Wanting Obama to have been a confrontational progressive was wanting him not to have been black in America.
I’m not saying you’re wrong on average, but there are black progressives, of course, and I think it was clear Obama was perfectly sincere in his belief in moderation and dialogue. So I don’t think that sort of aggregate point can be the number one factor in analysing an individual.
Equating being a black progressive with being the first black president is like saying climbing K2 is a stroll in the mountains.
Nobody, on either side, would have tolerated a brawling Obama. He would have lost every shred of political capital.
Remember when he wore a brown suit.
The first black president was always going to be center left. There was literally no other path available.
Must have been a white porcupine to get them fired.
Since this board’s inception I have not seen this salient point made one time. “Liar” on the house floor backs this up.
I honestly didn’t like the mic drop but after 8 years of 24/7 scrutiny that being the only time I remember him losing composure should relegate him to sainthood.
Huh?
Wish me luck. It’s potty training weekend here.
It’s certainly been said before but I think it’s been a little lost recently, especially by the most progressive wing, who should be the most sensitive to the weight of history which was always squeezing Obama into a very narrow path.
Someone would have to make a much stronger argument than the article posted that there was any world in which Obama could have been some kind of strong progressive and accomplish anything at all in office.
He was centrist, both because I agree it was his natural political position but more so because he had no other alternative.
center left.
He was centrist,
Fair… Alough he’s centre right anywhere outside America
