LC Thread 2020: What the PUNK? ROCK.

An Ontario company is producing face masks just for guys with beards

Whoever mentioned Zuckerberg scared of a Dem landslide:

Our catalytic converter was stolen last night right in front of our house. :frowning:

I’ve heard that’s a big thing in our area now. My buddy who lives near says a bunch of them have been stolen. He lives in a apartment complex with a carport that opens to the alley - everyone w/o an alarm has had their cars broken into multiple times.

My complex has a security guard and our cars are sort of inside. So hopefully that’s enough to keep them away.

Long read about the Oath Keepers in next month’s print edition of The Atlantic:

Damn, I didn’t think 32 was going to have much competition, but 747 is CHAWNKY.

RIP DBJDubois

I can’t help thinking he might still be around. I’m pretty sure he started another account with highly dubious claims in the early days of the alt-politics forums.

I have barely been following this story but I now notice that the offender is from Jamaica. They are insanely homophobic there

My wife and I are getting away from city and going to rent an Airbnb in Union Pier, MI at the end of this month. Seems like a responsible way to enjoy a mental break away from work. Should be some awesome fall colors in that area at that time. Definitely going to hike the Warren Dunes. If we can find a place still open we might rent kayaks for the lake. Otherwise, just going to be hanging out in the hot tub. Any other ideas for people familiar with the area?

Hit up Redamak’s for a burger. If you guys are into beer, Greenbush Brewery isn’t too far north and just north of that is Bridgman where there are a bunch of pretty decent breweries.

I went to Greenbush and Transient in Bridgman 2 years ago on a road trip. Assuming they have well spaced outdoors areas set up we may go there on off times. Thanks for the recs.

Lol yikes, I didn’t even consider Covid in my answer. When the question is posed, “what’s fun here?” my mind just automatically reverts to non-covid times.

Yeah of course only go to those places if there is acceptable outdoor seating. Have a great trip!

That’s what the team is fighting for now, but I doubt it will happen.

One of my good buddies has decided to have his RECEPTION in November. They are going to Jamaica to get married then hosting the indoor reception at his business when they get back. You know what happens at receptions indoors in a pandemic? People get hammered then end up taking off their masks throughout the night. I guess I’m sending him a text telling him we are not comfortable and give them best wishes.

A couple friends are going forward with their big indoor wedding on NYE…I think that’s gonna be a no for me dog.

Also it’s in MN so it will be really cold and no one will be hanging outside
