Getting into some occasional smoking myself.
With a CBD vape pen. Not keen on getting nicotine shakes.
Some mofos doing a pretty deep dive on Bob’s Big Boy.
There’s one a few hours from me and my travel buddies need to stop every time we go through lol. They love the pizza burgers. I think they are ok but wouldn’t go there myself if traveling through.
I recommend against it. I smoke when drinking, but that’s because I’m addicted and wolf down nicotine lozenges every day, about $1500/yr worth. Pretty big leak. I’ll probably quit nicotine once I drop like 50 lbs.
that’s what I grew up with. Apparently it was the first franchisee of Bob’s.
Use to smoke cigarettes. Quit a long time ago.
As for CBD, I use CBD oil for anxiety. It’s been hugely beneficial for keeping me more level but it has its limits. For example, it’s basically useless during an anxiety attack (had one yesterday). CBD vape pens deliver it more directly and it has a near immediate impact while the oil takes about 15 minutes to kick in.
A legislator in Argentina’s lower house of congress has been forced to resign after he was seen kissing his girlfriend’s bare breasts during an online congressional debate.
The scandalous moment, during a debate about pension fund investments, was transmitted live on the lower house’s YouTube channel and on a giant screen set up in congress for online debates during the pandemic.
While some Argentinian legislators are attending sessions in person, many are logging on from home.
Juan Carlos Ameri claimed that he thought he was offline during the incident, but resigned on Thursday after he was called to order by the president of the lower house, Sergio Massa.
“I have a terrible [internet] connection at home,” Ameri said in a radio interview later.
Ameri said that his girlfriend, who had recent breast augmentation surgery, happened to enter the room while he thought he was offline and that he called her over.
What does UP say about what to do when you find your dogs attacking a squirrel in your backyard? Squirrel was still conscious though shaking (I’m guessing in shock) and attempting to shelter.
- Let nature run its course and only involve yourself if you smell a dead carcass
- Finish off the squirrel yourself the most humane way you know how and bury it
- Take it to a wooded area and release it

Anyone drive a Tesla Model 3? @skydiver8 does right? My 09 Honda Civic is payed off and I might trade it in + a little cash for 15% down. I’ll mainly use it highway miles from work and back (30 miles a day). There was an upgrade for $8k which unclouded city autopilot which seemed excessive. Does regular Model 3s include highway autopilot? Does the standard range give you what you need?

All the Tesla bros are on Hacker News defending this as “But the pedestrian isn’t moving his arms!”
$8000 for full self driving sounds like a Ron Paul grift.
this is an ongoing philosophical debate around self-driving cars.
The simplistic view:
Something more nuanced:
bottom line: hitting the “pedestrian” may not be a malfunction.
The solution is a new way of thinking about the ethics, as I stated about the guy sleeping at the wheel. (no one died vs. potential loss of life in a normal car)
Yes, I have one. Unfortunately, I can’t really answer your questions about pricing because I have no idea how they are packaging things now. I was a first-day pre-order, so I had less choice than you do, and autopilot was packaged completely differently.
What I have is kind of “half-FSD”…I don’t have the full self driving hardware, but I have what used to be called Enhanced Auto-Pilot, which includes things like navigate and auto-lane change that it seems like is now included in FSD? It’s very confusing.
I would highly recommend getting whatever option includes auto-steer. It is a godsend on the freeway. As for the full FSD? it’s still vaporware, and it’s eventually gonna be a subscription service, so you might wait on that.
As a software developer I’m not shocked it doesn’t work. AI is kind of a myth. It works great for cases that are very well curated and defined … by humans.
Real world not so much. It’s like that friend who always takes everything extremely literally and never sees the forest for the trees - x1000.
The ethical stuff is only a small part of it. Those cars should have slammed on their brakes - no matter what they thought that mannequin was. This wasn’t a highway situation with other cars doing 80 behind them. Whatever it was they saw it, it confused them, so they hit it. That’s terrible.
I think the current thinking is to prioritize the lives of the people in the vehicle above all else, but there are so many variables that will never be solved until every vehicle on the road is operating under the same constraints/instructions.
There was nothing dangerous to the occupants about slamming on the brakes in the things I posted. The cars didn’t do it. Software fail.
yeah, seems so. which is strange because I have been in my car coming up to a light and it’s definitely picked up the pedestrians waiting at the corners. (it shows them on the display)
