Instead of fighting let’s lay the line on how many months until Johnny is so desperate for good Mexican food that he caves and moves back to the US. 
I think at least 40% of why my brother moved back is his Californian wife couldn’t take a life without Mexican food.

Internet forums are better for this type of discussion than in-person conversation. The ability to do research, cite, and present evidence, including visual media, makes it superior to talking face-to-face while relying on memory to fact-check.
That some people suck at it is not a reason to condemn the form of communication. My guess is that those people would also suck at other forms of communication.
We used to go to Richmond, BC for Chinese food, but I haven’t been up there in 15 years. I heard the Indian food there is off the charts good.

Strongly disagree for two reasons.
First, estimates range from 70-90% of communication is non-verbal. We are missing that critical information that allows for nuance, tone, and subtlety.
Second, forum posting is missing the benefits of the other long standing form of written communication. When writing an article or book significant time can be taken to ensure accuracy and clarity.
Forum posting lacks both the context of verbal communication and the thoughtfulness of books.

I’ve had pub conversations with artist friends along similar lines before (everyone should have artist friends), and not once did they ever cross the line as this thread has.
But then again in person if you deliberately misquote someone and insult them you’ll end up with a pint glass in yer mush. Which is why all internet bullies are real life cowards,

Nobody said anybody is a racist imperialist for enjoying Black Panther wat in the shit. This is what I meant by intentionally misunderstanding and conflating points.
For example, I just watched it. (despite the detailed plot and backstory summary on the marvel wiki I got curious) I enjoyed it! It was an absolute delight but also dumb as shit and the criticisms of the political subtext are mostly valid.
The main reason they’re not totally valid is that things are too convoluted and nonsensical to really warrant criticism.
I know it’s popular to trash airlines but the cost of air travel has dropped substantially over the last 50 years. Fees allow for price discrimination. They are good.
