I’m listening to his sophomore album When Disaster Strikes.
Right now he’s wrapping about Quick Draw McGraw and Connect Four.
I liked that Break Yo Back song from the radio. Surprisingly the uncensored album version was Break Yo Neck - which I didn’t think was as catchy at all. The rare case where censorship made the song better. Or at least I liked it better because it was the one I heard first.
One of my biggest bugaboos with CDs - you shell out $15 for one song and it’s not even the version you like. Fuck those assholes, they got everything they deserved.
Wait no the other album wasn’t House of Pain - it was those weed-smoking guys - Latino. Can’t remember their name.
This could actually be an amusing thread.
Cypress Hill?
Yes! That’s it.
FFS how does “90s rock band latino loves weed” fail so bad in google?
Ok duh I guess they’re more of a rap band.
Yeah of course they show up here. But that album was kind of a rock/rap fusion. It had one good song.
Meh, the Busta Rhymes song holds up a lot better. I swear there was a radio edit version where they said Break Yo Back.
This one sounds more like the radio version to me. I want to say the album version was different. But maybe not. Not getting into my storage to find out.
What thou sayest.
Also first CD works too. And first concert YOLO. Inspired from the LC thread. Mine was Busta Rhymes - Genesis, and Cypress Hill - Skull and Bones. Both listened to all the way through maybe once. I’m not even sure I listened to every song on Cypress Hill. I swear the Break Yo Neck song was different on the radio than the album. One of my biggest bugaboos with CDs - you shell out $15 for one song and it’s not even the version you like. Fuck those assholes, they got everything they deserved. I …
If you liked that you’d probably like the movie Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga. A fair amount of goofy but fun songs and plenty of Will Ferrell.

No Bone Thugs mention, boo
This is incredible! Amazing foresight.
Lol at the dullard interviewer. Yeah it’s just a different content delivery mechanism dude.
David Bowie was, uh, not stupid.
I started as a web developer in 99 and I was pretty slow to catch on to the internet.
Bowie GOAT
That’s true, but taking into account the good AND the bad and taking into account the fracturing of realities with the internet would put him above your average techno optimist at the time I imagine.

My stock options didn’t end up being worth anything but I didn’t really expect much out of them anyway. I left the industry because I moved down to SoCal because a family reasons. I’d be a stone-cold lock to have at least a couple million dollars if I would have stayed in the industry.
Social media is the stuff Bowie says we can’t even imagine yet in 1999 - exhilarating and terrifying. But mostly terrifying.
