It honestly isnāt you, itās this city that winds me up, we donāt have split areas or the outright violence that happens in Ireland, but itās always just under the surface in and around the East End and North not so much in the west end, but itās everywhere else so to speak.
The only Areas Iād ever recommend to our American friends is the west end, alough I know thatās not your point.
Whenever someone brings up the troubleās, my friends (Mostly prodestant) stopped it, because they knew what happened to my mum, when strangers do it, I stay out or move away, both me and my brother have this mechanism because otherwise weād be in jail for life, no doubts. Both sides has affected us in this city because of mixed familyās who both had players at both teams.
I suppose what Iām saying is growing up in a mixed community and having our own struggles brought out a friendship with folks who eventually turned, because of a Culture they have never known had me confused, along with many other glaswegians we just donāt understand it.
Except to say they learned all of it at the football, so no-one will convince me otherwise that it aināt prevalent at Ibrox. Infact itās a breeding ground.
