Sure, but even before WWI and suggestions of Home Rule, Irishmen served by the thousands in the British Army. In the 1850s, about a third of British soldiers were Irish. I’m guessing the reason was always mainly economic.

Alone among the royals I feel some sympathy for him. I’m sure he’s worked out he’s not Charlie’s son; his mother’s premature death was at least part caused by paparazzi (and possibly arranged by his own grandfather). Who wouldn’t find all that hard to deal with, no matter your privilege? Plus, unlike most of the rest of his deplorable family, he’s had the balls to talk very publicly about mental health problems.

They have my best wishes and I truly hope both of them can live a somewhat relatively normal life.

I’m sure it’s a real word with a real definition that fits here, but niggling? really?

It’s like a sixth sence word… If its niggling IT must be true.

Glad I read the full story before I typed out “Already seeking to monetise her royal status”.

I said to a colleague sitting next to me at work when the marriage was announced that I’d give them 5 years. He laughed and called me a cynical bastard.

Don’t let smack hear your misogyny or you might get banned or cancelled…

This is what I’m going on… I must admit I did not expect yourself to be all for just letting it all out… My bad.

I’m not really sure where I’m at it with it myself. I disagree with it and would rather not hear it but don’t think it should it is all that banable, probably a matter of where the line should be. I think there is probably much more room for movement on the casual women-hating stand than there is on more engrained views on race so banning isn’t going to change as many minds as just calling out people. But I’m also an old white guy and realize my opinion on it is pretty worthless.

No… Your time and input is valuable… Always :joy:

The amount of Irish people who appear to care passionately about the British Royals is sickening. I legit don’t care about them as people - it’s not like I’m demanding massive anti-Royal sentiment - but how on Earth do you give a shit about them one way or the other if you’re not at least British, and honestly really only English, I’d have thought.
