Land of Hope & Glory? - UK Politics and other stuff

I’m no royalist and don’t have strong feelings about it one way or the other, apart from the incessant racism of the media against his wife which has been abhorrent.

Soap opera stars in my limited experience have been pretty awful.

One lived in a house near my old flat and was hated locally for her prima donna behaviour, complaining loudly like a Karen about everything that wasn’t up to her newly-acquired standards.

Another time I was with friends in a crowded restaurant, and a couple of actors from EastEnders came in with friends. One of the women actually said to us “Are you going to be long?” (much to the evident embarrassment of her friends, who looked away).

Then again Minty used to drink in one of my locals, and he was totally normal.

Uncle said that Harry & Megan contacted celtic to find out how it is to lose a title… Bastards :face_with_hand_over_mouth:

A pre Eastenders Patsy Palmer used to drink in my local in Hackney. She was a good laugh

Actually she was a pre Patsy Palmer, Patsy Palmer. She was called Jools as I recall

This must be the surest sign that the final whistle has blown and the billionaire asset and media owners won.

Time to pack up and leave, those who can.

Calling it now, what happened to Corbyn and Labour will be the most personally depressing political thing that happens in my lifetime.

Lots of more awful things in all kinds of ways out there, obviously, but seeing a genuinely hopeful movement get ruthlessly crushed by unchallenged lies by a coalition of the Tories, centrists, the newspapers, the fucking ‘security’ services and god knows who else, is a pretty clear sign that no good will ever ever happen.

And I don’t even live there any more.

Corbyns nomination was a sick joke by a complacent elite. Then it got out of hand and they realised they might have a genuine popular leftist movement on their hands. So the entire establishment came together to stamp it out.

Yeah, absolutely, centrists should include Starmer and other traitors.

Little Britain…

Yup.

Starmer’s the sort of person you want as PM in a country with very few problems because he’ll keep things ticking over reliably and will avoid controversy.

I once had to ring a colleague at a conference as I’d by chance looked at a demo system they were going to use, and they’d done the same thing. She didn’t catch on even when I pointed out that the name Fred West was in there, had to actually say he’s the bloke that done all the bad murders.
