Glad I read the full story before I typed out “Already seeking to monetise her royal status”.

I said to a colleague sitting next to me at work when the marriage was announced that I’d give them 5 years. He laughed and called me a cynical bastard.

Don’t let smack hear your misogyny or you might get banned or cancelled…

This is what I’m going on… I must admit I did not expect yourself to be all for just letting it all out… My bad.

I’m not really sure where I’m at it with it myself. I disagree with it and would rather not hear it but don’t think it should it is all that banable, probably a matter of where the line should be. I think there is probably much more room for movement on the casual women-hating stand than there is on more engrained views on race so banning isn’t going to change as many minds as just calling out people. But I’m also an old white guy and realize my opinion on it is pretty worthless.

No… Your time and input is valuable… Always :joy:

The amount of Irish people who appear to care passionately about the British Royals is sickening. I legit don’t care about them as people - it’s not like I’m demanding massive anti-Royal sentiment - but how on Earth do you give a shit about them one way or the other if you’re not at least British, and honestly really only English, I’d have thought.

Well, as long as it isn’t casual…

My mind is quite boggled as to why anyone gives a fuck about any Royal Family news, but I’m happy to take the opposite side to the Daily Mail, Piers Morgan and Katie Hopkins so count me in for team Meghan.

My apologies @fidgetUK as you seem to have picked up on a conversation me and Kerowo was having about another poster who I took exception too for calling posters Bitches… My bad I should have posted and explained.

This is my stance tbh… I don’t care about them at all if I’m totally honest with myself.

A few mates despise them & I wonder why the’d waste the energy.

Mind you, growing up here we all tend to dismiss anyone who speaks at all about them either good or bad just because we know it brings trouble. :pensive:

I hope they land in a good place tbh, as I wish them no harm…

There are more than a few Americans who follow the royals. Seems strange to me but royal family gossip is always aggressively covered by the US tabloids. People are enchanted with the idea of fairytale princess and in the US it’s easy to ignore all the politics surrounding the royal family and just focus on the celeb gossip and royal babie and whatnot.

Do public funds refer to current taxes or previous capital accrued by the royals?

It’s a mixture of the land they own & public tax monies…

What the Royal Family Really Costs British Taxpayers | Vanity Fair

As for Prince Harry, his $45,000 salary for his service in the British Army Air Corps came in at only 10% of his wife’s Suits annual earnings. But the bulk of his wealth comes from an inheritance of $13 million he received for his 30th birthday, per the will of his late mother, Diana, Princess of Wales.6 May 2019

This Is How Much Money Each Member Of The Royal Family Is …

So mostly a symbolic gesture? It’s not like they are going to be staying at Motel6’s or anything.

Exactly… They have vast amount of money and resources are easily attainable once they leave the public housing that they currently reside in.

I think a royal decree was signed long ago to pay them for taking a back seat to the Nobles of England and stopped starting wars in France… :joy:

There public housing…
