Heads up against Negreanu
Hookers and blow?
I agree with one caveat. I think directly attacking Trump at this point doesnât bear much fruit. Instead appeal to the people who are just sick of the general tenor of politics now. Just be kinder and more human. I think that wins.
I suspect GOTV activities have the biggest bang for the buck at this point. But I donât know what the most effective GOTV strategies are
Maybe registration and information drives?
I think this misses the real killer line, which is that a Harris admin will do normal politician-y kind of stuff, where she tries to identify things that arenât working well and try to do things to make them better. Republicans and moderates might get mad at her decisions, but it will be a normal kind of mad.
I think the price controls âgaffe/walkbackâ is a pretty good gambit here. She gives a speech suggesting CRAZY ELIZABETH WARREN PRICE CONTROLS ON THE WAY, lots of centrist types start scolding her for how terrible that is, and she eventually unveils a modest, nothingburger kind of proposal. This doesnât endear her to centrists, but it makes them comfortable with being her loyal opposition. You might pine for Mitt Romney, but chiding over-ambitious liberals about Econ 101 is a centristâs happy place.
Whatâs that? You guys want some more positive, random and questionably meaningful data drops to stoke the good vibes? Sure, I got you,
We really need to get over this idea that policy matters at all in presidential elections. I donât think there is any evidence to support it and itâs only talked about among wonky politics nerds like us.
I would not mention another policy until election day if I was her.
I think this is partially true. It is a good idea to talk about the outcomes you care about and want your policies to create. Regular folks do want to hear from Dems that the Dems understand their challenges and will help them. That lands. I agree that it is unnecessary and self defeating to get into all the âhowsâ in the run up to an election.
Exactly.
Is this really a centrist play, though? My idea of their thought process was that Harris needs to do something about high prices. So what to propose? A more technocratic - politically melded organization would would talk about expanding options and free trade, things that are economically correct, but donât poll especially well. But price controls poll well, so thatâs what she goes with. Sheâs doing popularism.
Of course policy doesnât matter. The left have been right on policy since⌠er forever. Politics isnât about policy because most people arenât gonna be appreciably better off because off policy but they are gonna be able to look down on those fucks because our guy is in power, so reasons, and so yeah iâm voting for that guy.
This feels overly effeminate without truck nuts.
Not claiming to be smart, but I would start spreading to the âreachâ states like Florida and Texas (have them campaign for the senate races, too), but also Alaska and Utah (no Iâm not crazyâŚthose people hate trump and the moral stuff would work)
Start spending on the senate races. Send Kamala and Tim to stump for Allred and Powell and others.
Start spending on the Red-to-Blue house races, even in CA.
Really put that reverse-coattails effect to the test.
so, bc that $500 is actually real, thatâs what theyâre doing right?
right? haha
I live in Utah and I have not encountered this fwiw
Iâm in Salt Lake and there may be some (my landlord gave me a 2025 calendar that features a monthly picture of Reagan) but far too few. Like, the D senate candidate is down 34%. Donât waste the money.
