Which is actually an advantage. They’re both riding that “generic democrat” wave right now.
FoxNews et al didn’t see this coming, so they didn’t spend 4+ years meat-tenderizing their audience’s brains like they did with HRC. I think they thought even if Biden dropped out it would be someone else. Also they’re all right-wing grifters, so they can’t conceive of personal sacrifice for the sake of one’s country.
Also Kamala is somewhat teflon. But if she wins, they’ll have 4 years to find lots of angles.
The dems should just wait until the last minute to nominate some fairly random person every time they’re not an incumbent running.
Generic meaning in the polls when they ask Trump vs. (unspecified) Democrat. Low info normies still don’t have a strong opinion on her because she hasn’t been in the cross hairs for years.
It would be funny, but I don’t think I can handle the sweat. This one is killing me especially since a lot of the people here seem to feel like it’s mission accomplished already.
100% agree with this, but do you think this is still the case going forward? Can a left leaning candidate win a primary now or will they be cock blocked again? Have Dems learned that shifting right is not the answer for winning elections?
Also, is this even right… Is the only reason it worked this time because it’s against a fascist authoritarian and next time we return to normal?
Somewhat surprised Liz Cheney isn’t speaking. She seems as anti Trump as Kinzinger and has said she will do everything possible to make sure he’s not elected. Maybe she still has political aspirations if the Republican party ever is won back?
honestly though even if Kamala isn’t “generic” she’s still way, way more novel than Trump, who we’ve been dealing with for almost 10 years straight now, in most people’s minds he’s much more like the incumbent and she’s much more like the challenger just from a mental fatigue point of view.
I tend to doubt that’s in order. Seems like it’s grouped by title more than anything. Would be surprising if they led with nothing but senators and then let reps handle the whole back half.
It’s annoying difficult to find the actual order of speakers. I think yesterday a schedule was not released until very late in the day, and then the schedule was changed on the fly. I haven’t found anything about an order, so it could be that one is not yet set.
