So nobody with any gambling or political knowledge would be betting on a rigged market so who is left to bet?
This whole thing is confusing the hell out of me. I knew these markets existed but I always assumed the betting stopped as soon as someone could know the real outcome.
Christie is, of course, correct. Consider the following:
Pennsylvania is the key state. Gov. Shapiro won it by more than 14 points less than two years ago, and has a 61 percent approval rating.
One of Harrisâs greatest vulnerabilities is the multitude of leftist positions she foolishly took in the 2019 campaign. A Shapiro selection unambiguously moves the ticket to the center.
Shapiro has shown political and governing talent, most recently in his remarks after the assassination attempt against former president Trump, and in his rebuilding of I-95.
And if Harris pulls back from Shapiro after the campaign against him from the left, it will look weak.
I really donât like this guy, but points 1,2, 3 are valid. Point 4 lol.
Eh, at least on PI it wasnât that huge of a problem. Only a small number of insiders are going to have inside knowledge, there were limits on how much you could bet, not every market could be exploited. Mostly I imagine it was DC interns and their friends making a few quick bucks after getting early news.
I would think so. The Obama guys were talking about how there were speeches written up for Biden, Kaine, and Bayh and that they werenât tipped off until really shortly before. Makes sense this would be common practice.
In the primaries. Totally different. Is William Kristol suggesting that people who voted for, say Biden, in the 2020 PRIMARIES are going to not show up for the real election to vote for Harris because she picked Walz as VP?
Like seriously. He says unambiguously moves it to the center. Who views it that way? A couple dozen voters??
Her vulnerability is the 2019 primary? Seriously? This guy is living in the 1950s or something. That doesnât matter at all, and on top of that, heâs substituting âleftist positionsâ for âpopular positionsâ to make it sound scary.
The people affected by what heâs saying and how heâs saying, they just donât exist anymore. His writing is a parody of itself.
What? Walz has done plenty of things too. This point is also stupid.
This is the only good argument and itâs not obvious and no one knows what is best here. It probably helps in PA, but Harris may win PA w/o Shapiro on the ticket and Shapiro could cost her other states.
If this idiot (Bill Kristol) had his way, the dems would be nominating Hillary right now.
This is a very good point and I think if it wasnât Shapiro theyâd have said so by now, otherwise tomorrow theyâll have to deal with a disappointed crowd. Even if they announce it before the rally.
