Joe Rogan

Newsweek was owned by WaPo up to 2014. It’s most recent owner was basically a cult, literally.

While this isn’t wrong, these people listen to/watch 50 other things. None of the other ones platform Alex Jones. We can just work with all the other ones easily imo.

Wait, Victor didn’t know Newsweek has veered hard right for 5+ years?

newsweek has been owned by some dark money shell company since like 2015. wapo sold it in 2010, even before amazon

lol. is it indistinguishable like “i don’t see race”?

Wat, its style/tone/substance completely changed

Rogan claimed on IG that he fact checked everything Jones said during the interview and it’s all true :joy:

i thought you had to be making that number up

kajillion

But I have been assured he is just an innocent stupid bro, just asking questions.

This thread is the UP version of the blizerian thread at 22. We really have run out of ideas

I don’t need new ideas, all my current ideas are obviously correct.

Omg. 3.5 hour Knowlege Fight episode covering Jones on Rogan just dropped. Stick it in my veins

Stick it somewhere.

Here we go. Enjoy!

Also on any podcast player you might use.

And this - just some harmless fun? No way his millions of dudebro followers would get a message that masks are for pussies, right?

It’s funny two of rogan’s comic underlings Bert Kreischer and Tom Segura co host a podcast called Two Bears One Cave. They both used to be regulars on rogan’s podcast and where the primary proponents of things like sober October and other bets on rogan’s show. Anyways these guys just pulled their podcast off Spotify, and apparently Spotify execs giving rogan’s some grief over it.

I used to listen to rogan a lot. Primarily for when he had comics on I enjoyed. (The reality of listening to lots of the JRE is joe is not very funny and does not know how to take a joke on his own show)

But it’s been a long time since I caught the podcast, it is pretty silly now and rogan has turned into a very silly human being. His political views and those of his most ardent followers are ridiculous.

I have listened to probably 1200-1500 hours of joe’s podcast at the very least and many of these takes are fairly accurate.

Joe is a comedian, who is not funny, Joe is a (pseudo)intellectual who is not intelligent. I give him credit for being open to taking in all sorts of information from all sorts of sources. Unfortunately he is wholly incapable of processing such information on the fly with guests, so he is regularly just run over by anyone from Uber intellectuals to snake oils salesmen.

He is one of those people who believes everyone’s opinion is valid and be heard. These factors end up with his podcast pumping out a lot of horrible garbage. I give him real credit for building and growing his show. The podcast is massively different than it used be. The original era, which went on for years, was just a lot of screwing around, some comic guests, and sometimes out there intellectuals.

Joe’s “I am just a dumb ape” schtick while his podcast sometimes pumps out bad and even dangerous information just doesn’t fly anymore given his level of reach.

It is not just that he puts them on the show. He has no desire or capability to challenge them. He will regularly stare at crackpots with wide eyed amazement providing confirmation for everything they said.

Joe voted for Johnson In 2016. That he didn’t vote for trump in 2016 directly is meaningless.

I heard joe say on his podcast hundreds of times, with trump in office, that both sides are equally as bad. He may have moved off that slightly, but for the first three years of Trump he was firmly on the “both sides are the same” bandwagon.
