Joe Rogan

Ah the false dilemma fallacy.

We can either fix opioids or vaccine hesitancy, but not both.

Youā€™re not giving him the benefit of the full context. He follows it up to say that heā€™s not saying black people donā€™t have brains, they just have different brains.

Somebody on Reddit pointed out thatā€™s literally the plot of ā€œGet Outā€.

This is the most likely scenario.

Joe doesnā€™t think one person should run the country so maybe that is the back door way in.

Heā€™s definitely respectful of sides that differ from his.

She laughed at him! He had to defend his alpha male status.

All attempts to cancel Joe are only going to have the opposite effect.

Deplatforming generally works. Rogan wonā€™t be gone forever, but not being a massive Spotify exclusive will hurt his bottom line and audience.

Sure you can temporarily turn Joe off, but it will only further incite his mob and thus have the opposite of the intended effect on a social level.

You can already see this playing out on Twitter with all the ā€œLeave Joe alone, heā€™s a good guy, he didnā€™t mean to say the N-word and even if he did, well free speech, plus heā€™s a comedian!ā€ Tweets.

Maybe Joe will be the exception, but deplatforming has been very successful at limiting the reach of a lot of heinous people.

In Joeā€™s case though, wonā€™t he just go back to YouTube, his original platform?

Maybe. But YouTube hasnā€™t been shy about deplatforming people either. You donā€™t even have to ban him, just turn his ads off.
