Jmakinmeangry vol. 2: More debauchery, less idiocy

That is basically what my therapist said. We broke down my finances and what I save and what my goals are, because I’ve always had financial insecurity for my whole life. It’s something I still worry about and I absolutely do not need to anymore. I’m saving a lot now for the future but I kind of live like a miser. So after running it past her and talking it through with a few other people, it seems like not a big deal.

The environmental part of me is like “you are now part of the problem” and I feel some guilt about it. But I’ve cut out most red meat and have been working hard on reducing my waste. So, maybe it doesn’t balance out carbon wise, but given I drive maybe ~5k miles a year I don’t think I’m really coal rolling or anything but when I filled the tank today I was kinda like… oof not good.

These cars aren’t gonna be around forever, I predict. I was gonna wait til I was retired to get something fun like this but maybe by then fuel standards will be (perhaps by necessity) so prohibitive that it doesn’t make sense to drive a car like this anymore.

This thing is really fun

Bout two hours away is a huge salt flat where you can spend like $20 and do whatever you want on it. People frequently drag race and stuff out there. After the vegas trip I’m gonna head up there and see what this thing can really do.

The couple I was gonna move in with are having severe marital problems I guess. Glad I got this roommate. My life has taken such an uptick in the last few weeks, it’s pretty crazy:

  • fully vaccinated
  • roommate/clean house
  • new car

Now I just need to start doing better at work and I’ll have everything set up for at least the next year. Also I am joining hinge and reactivating my bumble.

I guess I never mentioned it. I got a roommate 2 weeks ago. Same guy that was living with me last year. He cooks, he cleans, he’s super nice. It’s great.

I have no idea what jmakin hingeing and bumbling means but it sounds fruity so I’m all for it.

Tales of derring do with fast cars and even faster women are what we are here for.

I first detected signs of irreversible middle age when instead of trying to break 150mph or staving off the boredom of my commuter drive by seeing how quickly I could get home without being nicked I found myself seeing how high I could get my mpg lol.

Don’t let this heppen to you or we won’t be able to live vicariously through this thread.

Hinge and bumble are dating apps

lol, what are your plans?

yea they’re dating apps. I particularly like bumble because the girls are hotter and the girl sends the first message on a match.

Hinge I’ve never tried. I’ll be on tinder as well but that’s kind of a dumpster for my age bracket these days and tends to skew much younger than me.

Don’t worry, although man this current gas crisis in the states has me hurting. I get about 15mpg when driving in normal mode. It costs $4.60/gallon for 89 right now. The challenger can supposedly go up to 25 mpg but I’ll believe that when I see it, it seems impossible.

I have nicknamed the car “bowser” because it reminds me of bowser from mario kart. Not the fastest acceleration or the razor sharp handling that a car like toadstool has (although it does handle extremely well compared to my sonata), but when it gets up to speed watch the hell out. It’s also a very heavy car compared to its rivals. It weighs as much as a ford explorer, lol.

I am afraid to hit 150.That would be terrifying and I’d be so afraid of losing control and rolling it. What I really wanna do is drift out in the desert. I can drift on racing sims but have never done it in a real car.

I will probably not try ridiculous speeds (out in the desert where it’s not illegal) til ~1500 miles are on the car because I know these things have break in periods. Supposedly the break in period is 300 miles, but I’m gonna be careful.

I keep going for early morning drives before work. I get sad when I have to turn around and go back home. It’s really that fun to drive, I’m literally just driving down coast highway back and forth for miles for the fun of it.

I also purchased a top-rated radar detector. It already paid for itself today. I was doing some light speeding in a 35 zone and it started warning about Ka band up ahead of me (the Ka is almost exclusively a cop frequency) so I slowed down and sure enough there was a motorcycle cop lurking on the side of the road about 400 yards ahead. I was also able to detect a patrol car this morning that was driving through my neighborhood. Very cool, but it is set to way too high of a sensitivity right now. It goes off a lot on those speed warning signs and also for no reason sometimes. The K and X bands are not really used by police anymore and those warnings go off a lot and scare me. There is a way to filter for specific frequencies so I’ll probably just figure out how to do that. For how expensive it was though, the craftsmanship and usability is quite poor. You can also connect it to the car’s wifi (my car has wifi!!!) and update its database so it can warn you about speed or red light cameras. It will also tell you the direction the radar is coming from.

Still I’d rather it be too sensitive than not work at all. I’m very pleased with it. Knowing me though, I probably won’t even speed much with it. I’m a naturally slow/cautious driver and really afraid of police. I got it because it’s a cool gadget and it seems perfect for this car. My ex’s dad had a really cool sports car and let me drive it to vegas once with one of these gadgets and I thought it was the coolest thing ever.

For those that dont read the las vegas thread, there was a fair amount of debauchery this weekend. Ended up having a threesome with two girls i met in the lobby bar on my last night. First time for me, was pretty fucking awesome.

The trip was threatening to mediocre until that. I’m glad I went. I haven’t had sex since 2019. What a way to end the dry spell.

Car performed great but it’s really boring driving to vegas. Only a few thrills here and there.

I had a heavy amount of anxiety in vegas. It was packed, I felt claustrophobic, and not used to being around so many people so I kind of stayed really close to my hotel and didnt venture out much like i usually do. Went to red rock canyon and did the scenic drive. Pretty cool and only $15.

Well I did coax them with weed and dropped an obscene amount of money on drinks at the bar. We were doing $16 shots. They really liked me and wanted to party some more so i invited them up to my room. They were a couple but made it really clear from the beginning they were bisexual. They had just got to the city off a 9 hour drive and were looking to party. Lucky me.

I have photos but they arent really SFW or anything I wanna post here but I do have evidence! I asked for a few selfies with them because I feared no one would believe me.
