I criticize Israel and want a 2 state solution because of the inequiti3es. YOu just only hear what you want to hear
I think “occupation” needs to be defined
Does Israel have a right to exist? With what borders? pre 67 borders and anything else is an occupation or do the Palestenians have the right of return from river to sea? that is what needs to be defined
cause that is a ridiculous statement. Ive already stated why israel controls 3 borders and Egypt the 4th
That’s why a 2 state solution sucks. Yeah Jews who were born in Israel most certainly have a right to be there and be free. Yeah Palestinians who were forced out (and lots were) most certainly have a right to return and be free. “Leadership” can legally deal with this conflict wholesale, treating individuals without any individuality, but that’s not right.
Does the Republic of Texas have a “right to exist?” Do the tribal nations have a right to exist? People have rights, nation-states, I’m not so sure about.
:)
What do you think hamas goal was. To shoot 4000 rockets and kill 11 and declare victory?
My take: Hamas aspires to be the leader of all Palestinians, including in the West Bank. So when the attacks in Sheikh Jarrah began, it had to retaliate. Otherwise people in the WB are going to be like “what good are you?”
What effective method of response to Pals have? The rockets at least demonstrate that there’s a cost to Israelis attacking civilians. I’m explaining, not justifying. I think the Palestinians only card left to play is a multi-generational peaceful civil rights movement that culminates in citizenship in a greater Israel. No other course of action remains. But more of the onus for the violence is still on Israel.
The thing is, while you are more aware to the complexity of the current situation, you see it from the anarchist paradigm. Which I can relate and probably closer to that than any other solution, but I’m also aware that if that is the most likely outcome for a peaceful solution, the reality is going to be very grim, as neither side are going to accept that.
Others, I feel, are ignoring that.
This is not what hamas is in favor of though imo
What would be a proper response from Israel?
Are you okay that hamas fired 4000 rockets at Israeli civilians only because the iron dome protected many from death? If 10k Israeli civilians were murdered would that have been okay?
Of course not. No one here thinks that.
“But what if it were 1000 times as bad, would that change your mind? Chessmate!” is really a galaxy brain take.
If 10k Israeli civilians were murdered would that have been okay?
I explicitly wrote that I favored non-violent civil disobedience.
Again, what effective means do Palestinians have for responding to the attacks in Sheikh Jarrah? You don’t want them to shoot rockets, so what should they do? Give away their homes? You are a skipping record.
Why is the true face of zionism a super religious extreme right wing group?
I’m sure the Democrats will still join the roundtable.
Don’t make me pin my yarmulke back
I, too, support a broad, welcoming dialogue restricted to people who believe exactly what I believe.
Mets strikes me as a religious Christian that’s called a few jews un-jews in his time.
