This also kinda relates to the whole ‘broken english’ racism debate. One of Netanyahu’s selling point was always his “perfect” English and in return that was used as a weapon against political opponents with a thick accent and more limited vocabularies (which also related to Ashkenazi racism, but that’s a very big topic of Jew on Jew racism)
The dude is screaming “revolution” at the end. The revolution apparently was replacing a corrupted right wing leader with checks notes etc etc a right wing nationalist leader.
I don’t understand exactly what you are saying, but im translating this to mean that youa re sarcastically saying you thought Trump solved the middle east because of the Abraham Accords?
I dont think almost anyone beleived that. I think Trump weakened the Palestenian position and were helping force other countries to accept Israel’s right to exist.
I also think Trump being out of office and Hamas wanting to test Israel and Biden and see how the reaction is is relevant to what happened here, but i dont want to say it 100% would have happened during trump.
but the fact that 5 countries in the area recognize Israel’s right to exist, that El-Al flies over Saudi, etc is still good for a chance at a 2 state solution at some point.
but i dont think this new government is going to be the solution for that either (the old one wasnt either)
Came in here seeing that there were a bunch of new posts hoping there was some good discussion from Yuv et al about the new Israeli PM, but instead there are a ton of worthless posts with Mets. :(
If anyone is willing to share their thoughts on the new PM, I’d really appreciate it. All I’ve seen is that he may be farther to the right than Bibi was, which seems crazy to me. If that’s true what does this mean for the Palestine situation? Will the coalition be able to keep him from doing anything too bad?
Yeah. But also no, if you rightfully consider the current situation as too bad.
The only possible good thing about it is that for a long while there Bibi seemed inevitable. From that angle, any change is good to erase the perception.
If you take it at face value, Hamas was responding to a court decision to evacuate houses at a Jerusalem neighborhood and hand them to their “lawful owners” (not my personal belief on the matter).
If that was a right decision, a just law or a proper/genuine response are all questions that will get different answers from different people.
exactly. Yes that is the reason they gave but i do not think most people believe that is the reason these attacks happened. They are claiming victory because of the bad press Israel got for killing civilians, and that was the obvious goal
Seems like it’d be pretty moronic to play right into their hands by doing exactly what their nefarious plan requires you to do. Like I can foil hamas’ evil plan easily. All I have to do is not murder any children. Damn ah well you win this round hamas. Too crafty for me, you know I just can’t resist shooting them in their little faces.
But according to you they’re getting totally played like chumps. Hamas is getting everything they want, and their goal is so obvious even metnfins can see through it. Why is Israel being so stupid in your opinion?
