Jeopardy! Thread (No spoilers until after the show EST)

Sigh…a masterclass in how not to wager today.

2-person FJ, champ has $12,300 and challenger $10,200.

Challenger misses and unnecessarily bets $8,000, giving the champ a lock win with any rational wager…except she missed and bet EVERYTHING.

Clavinesque, you might say. Too bad because she was delightful.

Is the world ending? What the fuck is happening tonight?

Sure they wait for me to be out of the country and I have to wait two weeks to see this.

I just found out that my daughter’s good friend is going to be on Jeopardy tonight (3/9). She actually has been in my home before.

Bon chance!

She could use a good payday. She lives in NYC as a struggling actor.

How’d she do?

The finger guns in the intro weren’t a good omen

3rd place. zeroed out on J DD, then wimped out on a 2J DD, but was never really in it after the 1st setback

Calling it now, current champ is going to be the second one in a row to lose because she bet everything when she didn’t have to.

Yeah, she never got traction after missing the early DD.

She actually toned down her personality A LOT during the broadcast.

She knew the game and had a solid vibe. Don’t think she had the buzzer skills.

Would SIIHP

Now would be the perfect time to tell your daughter that you always thought she was smart enough to be on Jeopardy but that she just didn’t apply herself and it’s ok you just want her to be happy and you love her anyways but you know she would have done better than her friend. You’ve always wanted one of your children to be on Jeopardy but its ok if she doesn’t get there.

This champ is putting me on supermonkeytilt

My favorite contestant of the season now is that private for-hire SAT/ACT profiteer (read: guy who charges $600/hr to coach rich white kids how to game those tests) whose bio piece was “well akshually I got perfect scores on all of the standardized tests in high school and haven’t heard of anyone else doing that.” He finished Double Jeopardy with -2,400 which is yet another great argument against standardized tests.

Serious talk: I wrote that post without doing any research and just assumed the worst, i.e., that the dude fit the mold of every self-touting tutor caricature riding the cash tidal wave created by the standardized test racket industry. That’s not fair. I should stop doing HEAT CHECKS when reading people and perform my due diligence.

That’s zero-time Final Jeopardy! participant for those keeping score at home.

It’s like the old deuces cracked coaching prices

Who was the one dude who didn’t even play poker but charged like $1000/hr lol

Spicy?

Friday’s episode was painful. One of the worst-played games I’ve ever seen. An astounding 17 wrong answers.

Only upside is that the champ had to take the walk of shame after DJ.
