Now would be the perfect time to tell your daughter that you always thought she was smart enough to be on Jeopardy but that she just didn’t apply herself and it’s ok you just want her to be happy and you love her anyways but you know she would have done better than her friend. You’ve always wanted one of your children to be on Jeopardy but its ok if she doesn’t get there.
My favorite contestant of the season now is that private for-hire SAT/ACT profiteer (read: guy who charges $600/hr to coach rich white kids how to game those tests) whose bio piece was “well akshually I got perfect scores on all of the standardized tests in high school and haven’t heard of anyone else doing that.” He finished Double Jeopardy with -2,400 which is yet another great argument against standardized tests.
Serious talk: I wrote that post without doing any research and just assumed the worst, i.e., that the dude fit the mold of every self-touting tutor caricature riding the cash tidal wave created by the standardized test racket industry. That’s not fair. I should stop doing HEAT CHECKS when reading people and perform my due diligence.
