Jeopardy! Thread (No spoilers until after the show EST)

No, theyve already filmed the episodes

So freakin weird how he seems to only date celebrities. He must love the attention.

I’m deciding to embrace the guest hosts for 2021 (but F Oz). Pulling for Ken full time for 21-22 season.

I thought the Dr. Oz, Godgers etc guest hosts were some sort of charity thing and not meant to be serious auditions?

anderson cooper is definitely legit interested in the job, he was rumored to be asking about it a few years back when Alex was supposedly thinking about retiring. CNN even let him host some dumb game show in a late night weekend slot for a couple of weeks.

Haha what? That must have been a disaster.

yeah I just happened to see it one night, here’s a facebook post I made (note the date)

Well hey person today at least got it right to bet 0.

So one of my best friends dabbled in being a New York theatre person. Like most didn’t work out, but now has an MBA and raising a family in Austin. That being said he made friends with Jon in his theatre time and Jon played piano at his wedding. He was a cool dude.

What is crazy is that Jon is probably still champion if he doesn’t answer the final question right. I mean of course GTO he has to ring in an answer, but as it turns out he would have been better off not answering.

Is this right? If we assume our co-leader shoves 100% then our win % is higher if we bet 0 in a tie game. (win% not EV)

We Bet it all, opponent bets it all

30% RR win 15% (equal shot on buzzer)

25% RW win 25%

25% WR win 0%

20% WW win 0%

40% win chance

We Bet 0, opponent bets it all

RR win 0%

RW win 25%

WR win 0%

WW in 20%

45% win chance

Assumptions. Leaders are about 55% to get FJ correct. Square for co-leaders

.55^2~0.3 (both right)

.45^2~0.2 (both wrong)

That leaves .5 to be split equally RW and WR.

Assume that our co-leader goes all-in every time.

Assume 3rd is less than half the co-leader score.

Sorry I mean the final question in the regular jeopardy round. That would have placed him at 13400 vs 14200. Per usual 1st place bets enough to cover assuming 2nd place bets it all. 2nd place bets enough to cover 3rd place in the case they both lose. When they both miss Jon goes on with 4001.

Of course 14200 could counter that if they were 100% in 13400’s wager. But no one wants to lose Jeopardy when they were leading going into final jeopardy when they get final jeopardy right.

No I got that.

I was just trying to figure if the non intuitive strategy has an advantage if we think we are greater than 50% to be correct in FJ in a tie situation (and our opponents right answer percent is similar to ours).

Yes he’s have won by being behind assuming he wagered correctly.

Ouch

Watching that clip just reminded me of why I hate Drew Carey as TPiR host.

Debuts as host

3/8 Katie Courig
3/22 Doc Ooze
4/5 Mr Shailene Woodley

Dates not listed

Mr Cooper
Savannah Georgia
Dr Amy F-F Cooper
Token Whitaker
Dr Guppy

No Geordi :frowning:

Producer guy did a fine job but the Murdoch media push for him over Ken has been unseemly on my Google news feed. They seem to be anti-Ken.

Ken #1

Wait, Lavar Burton was speculated?

He would actually do amazing. I am sad

There was a fanboy campaign. No clue what was actually going on.

Is Brad not getting a shot?

No one remembers Brad.

That’s not going to matter. He’ll GOAT it up if he gets a chance. He’s got the right personality.

Is Aaron Rodgers still doing it?

I mean Wayne Brady is GOAT host but I think he’s already hosting another show.

That would be the “4/5 Mr. Shailene Woodley” listed above. I’ll continue in the pop culture category, for $400, Aaron.
